Here is the Hal Jordan Shortlist for ‘Green Lantern Corps’
Looks like Warner Bros. and DC are serious about this Green Lantern Corps movie, as the film now has a shortlist of potential Hal Jordan contenders. The movie is being billed as a kind of sci-fi buddy cop flick, with Jordan and his fellow human Lantern John Stewart (no, not that one) palling around the cosmos and fighting crime. Now that the movie has found is writers, the next task is to cast it, and today we know who might be playing one of the main characters.

Describing a car as “villainous” is kind of silly, but this is the world of Pixar, where it’s totally normal for inanimate objects to become anthropomorphic friends and foes. The latest batch of photos from Cars 3 reveal a bit of both, including our first look at new baddie Jackson Storm, voiced by Armie Hammer. Pixar has also revealed some additional plot details from their next big sequel, which hits theaters this summer.

It’s about time. After months of waiting, the first (red band!) trailer for Free Fire has arrived on the heels of last night’s midnight premiere at TIFF. The latest thriller from Ben Wheatley (Kill List, High-Rise) features an all-star roster, including Oscar-winner Brie Larson, Cillian Murphy, Armie Hammer and Wheatley favorite Michael Smiley in the story of an arms deal gone terribly wrong.

There’s a quote, apparently apocryphal, attributed to President Woodrow Wilson about D.W. Griffith’s silent epic, The Birth of a Nation. "It is like writing history with lightning,” Wilson allegedly said of the film ever screened at the White House. For all of its technical achievements, Griffith’s movie was horrifically racist, and depicted “heroic” members of the Ku Klux Klan saving Southerners from blacks (actually white actors in blackface).

Just as The Man From U.N.C.L.E. portion of the WB panel ended at Comic-Con 2015, the extended trailer for Guy Ritchie’s upcoming action flick has arrived online. And it’s very extended — the new trailer features five minutes of action-packed footage from Ritchie’s big screen reboot of the classic series, starring Henry Cavill and Armie Hammer.

Can Guy Ritchie work the same magic on The Man From U.N.C.L.E. that he did with Sherlock Holmes (not the sequel, let’s not mention that)? After seeing the first trailer back in February, it seems possible, but even more so with the second trailer which just arrived today. Rather than modernize the classic ‘60s television series, Ritchie keeps things retro with this period action piece, and it looks like it could be kind of fun.

Guy Ritchie’s adaptation of the popular 1960s NBC spy series ‘The Man From U.N.C.L.E.’ is very much a throwback to the classic spy movies. Whereas most modern spy movies, like ‘Skyfall’ or the upcoming ‘Kingsman’, do their best to distance themselves from the Roger Moore style, ‘U.N.C.L.E.’ actually embraces it. It’s even set in the 1960s. But, is there an audience for a good, old fashioned spy movie? Watch the new ‘U.N.C.L.E.’ trailer and see for yourself.

It’s been a little while since we’ve gotten a new Guy Ritchie film—three years, in fact–but the director is currently working on a film adaptation of the classic spy series ‘The Man From U.N.C.L.E.,’ starring ‘Man of Steel’ Henry Cavill and Armie Hammer. Today brings our first sneak peek at the upcoming film, featuring Cavill, Hammer, and co-star Alicia Vikander, which means a trailer should be coming along shortly.
