Yesterday brought the news that 'Mad Men' star John Slattery would further his career by once again directing several episodes of the AMC drama's upcoming season, but lately we've been at a criminal loss for fresh 'Arrested Development' news. We know that Slattery will take a role in the coming Netflix revival season, set to hit in its entirety spring 2013, but who might the silver fox play? What do Slattery's most recent comments reveal about his role?

The sitcom is, and always shall be, an ever-changing art. There exists no perfect formula for success between various three-camera and single-camera efforts over the years. While some may bemoan the heightened situations and laugh tracks of a three-camera outing like the modern 'Big Bang Theory,' others remember how 'Cheers' and 'Seinfeld' among others perfected the format. So according to a recent '60 Minutes' poll, what's the greatest sitcom of all time?  Is it as funny as a bag of airline peanuts?

It's here, it's here! No, not Hurricane Sandy. Well, that too, but we digress. The first official photograph from Netflix's upcoming fourth season of 'Arrested Development' has hit the web courtesy of Conan O'Brien, and it's...well...let's just say we're not seeing much yet we haven't already seen. So, which Bluths do you think pop up in the first official still? And which recent guest stars are already putting in an appearance?

'Arrested Development' Picks Up Dropped 'Franklin & Bash' Star

EDIT

We don't often give dude-bro-tastic lawyer drama 'Franklin & Bash' a great deal of attention, unless it's picked up for a third season, or Mark-Paul Gosselaar attempts to take over the entirety of ABC's Tuesday night lineup. Still, it's of interest to note that the TNT series appears to have unceremoniously dropped star Garcelle Beauvais in advance of the third season. Thankfully, there are always parts in the banana stand, as the actress will next head to 'Arrested Development' season 4!

Throw some new tallies on both sides of the 'Arrested Development' season 4 board? Last night, the once and future 'Arrested Development' star Will Arnett dropped by 'Conan' in promotion of NBC's 'Up All Night,' but couldn't resist sharing a few secrets of the upcoming 'Arrested Development' reunion, particularly with two of his cast-mates sitting beside him! That's right, not only will Andy Richter return for the revival, but his late night boss Conan O'Brien will put in an appearance as well!

At this point, it would probably be best if Mitch Hurwitz and the folks behind Netflix's 2013 'Arrested Development' reunion simply put up a sign that all the original guest star will make an appearance. We've already heard of Liza Minnelli, Henry Winkler and Scott Baio, even Jeff Garlin, so it's little surprise to lean that the ever-thrifty Carl Weathers will be putting in an appearance as well. But will he have found a new source of fortune, or still have a rather lean stew going?

Sure, we love all the tidbits, photos and casting announcements that have emerged regarding Netflix's fourth season of 'Arrested Development' but it's hard to stay focused when we still have until spring 2013 to see them.  That glorious day will come but in the meantime, why not reflect on what made the show so wildly successful with fans and critics alike (but not viewers) in the first place?  That's exactly what two fans set out to do in 2007, and the bananas of their labor have finally arrived!

Might 'Arrested Development' season 4 be the true Holy Grail of comedy we're all hoping it to be?  The more of our favorite comedic stars it adds, the more likely that possibility seems.  'Parks and Recreation' breakout and 'House of Lies' star Ben Schwartz is the latest reported to join the cast, but who will he play?  Will the wall of secrecy around all of 'Arrested Development' season 4's guest castings come tumbling down?

Uh-oh!  It seems the more excited we become for the Bluth family to return in spring 2013's Netflix 'Arrested Development' reunion, the more concern we have.  At the very least, the original 'Arrested Development' run took place in a time when the internet lacked the capacity to spoil everything, but such is our modern fate.  So among the myriad of spoilers and casting updates we've gleamed from the revived series fourth season, what new set photo teases an ominous twist to one of our favorite 'Arrested Development' aspects?
