Sure, Sherlock has his upcoming Victorian special and a fourth season beyond that, while Idris Elba’s Luther will make a grand mini-series return, and Gillian Anderson’s The Fall also readies another run, but forget all that. There are a few things in particular Doctor Strange fans are hoping to see when Marvel’s mystical superhero film arrives next fall, including characters like the Ancient One and Night Nurse, as well as familiar elements from the comics — like the Sanctum Sanctorum, a townhouse built on sacred ground and charged with supernatural energy, the place that Stephen Strange calls home. And the latest set photo may very well be taken from inside that house.

The closer we draw to December’s end, the closer we are to new Sherlock in the form of one-off Victorian special “The Abominable Bride.” We’ve seen a few photos to date, but now the lady in question makes herself known in a new Sherlock trailer for the 2016 premiere, veil, shotgun and all.

For his next trick, Benedict Cumberbatch will go from Marvel’s Sorcerer Supreme to Warlock of War (all rights reserved) for the quite literally-named The War Magician, scripted by former Star Wars: Rogue One screenwriter Gary Whitta. The actor is turning his powerful eye from battling mystical comic book baddies to defeating Nazis with…magic tricks — though to be fair, the plot of The War Magician does sound like it could be a new Marvel movie based on an obscure property.

Marvel's Phase 2 box set arrives tomorrow, and in addition to all the great extras and supplementary materials for the films in the second phase of the MCU, fans will find at least one very special bonus feature for one of the studio's most anticipated Phase 3 projects. You don't have to wait until tomorrow (or even buy the box set) to watch this interesting featurette on Doctor Strange right now, which also offers a look at Benedict Cumberbatch via a new piece of concept art.

The BBC’s Sherlock has plenty of Doctor Who in its blood between creators Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss, but did you know Matt Smith even auditioned for the role of Watson? Production has officially begun on Marvel’s Doctor Strange, with director Scott Derrickson at the helm and Benedict Cumberbatch as the Sorcerer Supreme in what promises to be a truly unique and, well, strange offering from the MCU. Marvel has formally announced the start of production and confirmed the central cast, including former Hannibal star Mads Mikkelsen, who had previously been in talks for a role.

We’re at least a month from Sherlock’s grand return in the form of one-off Victorian special “The Abominable Bride,” so we’ll take all the photos and case details we can get, rather than wait until 2016.
