'Ghostbusters 3' has been killed (and resurrected) so many times that we could easily make a joke about it being a ghost itself at this point, but we won't subject you to such poor comedy. After a few months of silence, the project has reared its head again and is back to haunt (sorry) internet movie news sites all over the world. The latest rumor is that 'Ghostbusters 3' is not only back from the dead, but it will now be an animated movie.
'Parks and Recreation' has played host to a number of distinguished guest stars over five seasons, this year alone bringing the likes of Jason Schwartzman, 'SNL's' Jenny Slate, Newt Gingrich, Joe Biden, Lucy Lawless, ‘Breaking Bad‘s’ Jonathan Banks and Glenn Headly. But with rumors surrounding 'Parks and Recreation's' likely renewal for a sixth season, could the series tap its biggest guest star yet as Pawnee's Mayor? Find out if Bill Murray will make a 'Parks and Recreation' appearance inside!
Franklin Roosevelt needs a new publicist. While his Presidential colleague Abraham Lincoln is being exulted in multiplexes all over the country by no less than Steven Spielberg, he's getting portrayed as a lazy, unfeeling womanizer in 'Hyde Park on Hudson.' If this film is to be believed, our 32nd President (played by Bill Murray) spent most of his time at work looking for a different sort of job, provided by an assortment of female associates who attended to his every need. And I mean every need.
'A Glimpse Inside the Mind of Charles Swan III' offers the return of Roman Coppola to the director's chair. Roman, son of Francis Ford Coppola and brother to Sofia, hasn't helmed a feature film since 2002's 'CQ' and for his return to the big screen, he's brought Charlie Sheen, Bill Murray and cousin Jason Schwartzman along for the ride.
George Clooney has never had any trouble assembling an all-star cast for his productions. Indeed, why would he? But his latest is looking like it boasts the most impressive line-up to date. Don't believe it? How does a movie featuring Clooney, Daniel Craig, Cate Blanchett, Bill Murray, John Goodman and recent Best Actor Oscar winner Jean Dujardin sound?
It seems like just yesterday we were talking about Bill Murray and his reputation for being Bill Murray. Oh wait, that was just yesterday? Well already today we have another story about Bill Murray and his repeated efforts to be the best ever. Enter his heckling of Kelly Lynch for her 'Road House' sex scene.
Way to go, internet! You jumped the gun on this one!
In all fairness, we were among the many sites that reported Johnny Depp being cast in Wes Anderson's upcoming 'The Grand Budapest Hotel,' but it turns out that was far from confirmed. Mr. Anderson himself has cleared it all up for us: his film will have a great cast, but it will not include Depp.
Peanut butter and jelly. Jack and Coke. Bill Murray and Wes Anderson. Some things are just meant to go together. Murray and Anderson have collaborated on six quirky films together (including the animated 'Fantastic Mr. Fox') and it would appear as though a seventh is in the offing. Wes Anderson won't be making 'The Grand Budapest Hotel' without his good luck charm, and apparently not without 'Murder She Wrote' legend Angela Lansbury!
If you still had any hope left for 'Ghostbusters 3,' feel free to casually discard it now: Bill Murray is officially, definitely no longer appearing in the film. It's been a long and dramatic journey for this dying horse, but it's safe to say maybe we should let it go with dignity now?
Not so fast -- the film will go on without Murray.
