Bill Murray has been well-established throughout pop culture as a legendary eccentric, whose next feats might well include emerging from your bowl of soup, or taking a flamethrower to your next karaoke jam, so what's next? Why, a TV yuletide special with 'Lost in Translation' director Sofia Coppola, featuring the erstwhile 'St. Vincent' crooning Christmas carols, of course!

Early reports on 'SNL' season 40's inaugural three hosts pegged 'Guardians of the Galaxy star Chris Pratt and comedian Sarah Silverman, though it seems reports of series alum Bill Murray were only half-right. At this point, any new 'Ghostbusters' movie has been fancasted within an inch of its life. Any actor working today under the age of 40? They've been considered for the 'Ghostbusters' movie. Shoot, there's a chance you were considered to star in the 'Ghostbusters' movie. So, there's no point in going over yet another list of who should star in 'Ghostbusters 3' or whatever it is they're calling it these days. Unless, of course, the person who made that list is Bill Murray. In that case, *in rapt*.

It’s a weird thing to openly root for a movie that you find yourself not enjoying. This is how I felt while watching Bill Murray in ‘St. Vincent’ on the second day of the Toronto International Film Festival. I can’t be the only one who does this, right? It’s a situation in which you deeply admire the actors in a movie – in this case, Murray and Melissa McCarthy – and for the first, say, 45 minutes, you’re trying to convince yourself what you’re watching is “good.”

In early 1984, the team behind ‘Ghostbusters’ was fairly confident that they had a hit. Test screenings had gone well, but for director Ivan Reitman, something was missing. What Reitman wanted was a song, only 20 seconds or so in length, near the opening of the film as the then soon-to-be Ghostbusters -- Peter Venkman (Bill Murray), Ray Stantz (Dan Aykroyd) and Egon Spengler (Harold Ramis) –- enter the New York Public Library.

The biggest problem with the concept of 'Ghostbusters 3' is the fact that 'Ghostbusters' still very much exists and is pretty much perfect. This fact will be reconfirmed when the original is re-released later this summer as part of the film's 30th anniversary celebration, which will also include a new Blu-ray release.

Bill Murray only gets cooler with age. Sure, the legendary actor may have gotten pickier with his choice of roles in in recent years, but he's made up for his reduced screen time by being the Most Awesome Guy On The Planet, appearing in random places and spreading oddball joy wherever he goes. The latest incident involves a bachelor party in Charleston, South Carolina, which Murray crashed to deliver a truly incredible speech.
