Sam Mendes Says ‘Spectre’ Is a James Bond Origin Story
James Bond has always been more of a figure than a character, sliding through the decades as constantly fluctuating collection of what society enjoys at any particular time. 007’s evolution into something more complex and human in the Daniel Craig era is also a reflection of the times. This is what we want out of an action hero in 2015. Now, Spectre looks to take this route to its natural conclusion. According to director Sam Mendes, his film will answer one of the great unanswered questions in cinema: Where did James Bond come from?

New ‘Spectre’ Featurette Explores the Women in James Bond’s Life
Casino Royale may have stripped James Bond down to the bone, but the ensuing Daniel Craig entries in the immortal series have been slowly sliding all of the old tropes back into the series. In addition to resurrecting 007’s oldest nemesis, Spectre looks to bring back the “Bond woman” in a big way...

Dave Bautista Wants To Make a ‘Star Wars’ Movie
You probably know Dave Bautista as Drax, the knife-wielding, overly literal member of the Guardians of the Galaxy. Or maybe you know Bautista from his days in WWE, where he was a frequent world champion and last left the company with maybe the funniest wave goodbye ever. Perhaps you’re a huge fan of The Man with the Iron Fists (but I kind of doubt it). However you know Bautista, you probably think of him as an intense, brooding badass. But apparently there’s a Dave Bautista we don’t know, Bautista who’s ... a huge Star Wars nerd?

Five More Classic James Bond Characters We Want to See Rebooted
Technically, we don’t know who Christoph Waltz is playing in Spectre. But he sure looks like he’s a rebooted version of James Bond’s old arch-nemesis, Ernst Stavro Blofeld; legendary terrorist and leader of the evil organization SPECTRE. And even if it turns out that Waltz isn’t technically playing Blofeld, as the head of the reborn SPECTRE, he’s basically playing a new version of the same guy. Which got us thinking: What other classic Bond characters would we like to see added to current 007 continuity? Who should Daniel Craig square off with or romance with a pithy one-liner? In no particular order, here are our five top picks (along with five videos of the original versions of the characters in action):

‘Spectre’ Introduces You to the New Bond Girls
Given the evolution of the women in James Bond films (and the evolution of actual thinking in real life), maybe it’s time we started referring to them as Bond Women instead of Bond Girls — Bond Girls just sounds like they’re posing for a beer calendar. At any rate, new photos and information from Spectre have arrived to give us a proper introduction to the ladies of Bond’s latest outing.

After directing both Skyfall and Spectre back to back, Sam Mendes appears to be done with the James Bond franchise. That may come as a disappointment to 007 fans who were thrilled with Mendes’ work on Skyfall and are highly anticipating Spectre — judging by the trailers, we’re in for another great Bond outing.

During Game 3 of the NBA Finals last night, Sony Pictures covertly dropped an extended new TV spot for the upcoming 24th James Bond film, Spectre. Normally this type of footage would be accompanied by lots of announcements and teases on social media, but Sony played the spy card and went covert. There was no fanfare, no big announcements, but there was a lot of exciting new footage from the movie.

Many people have assumed, mostly because of their close personal and professional relationship, that director J.J. Abrams had invited actor Simon Pegg to make an appearance in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Pegg recently denied those rumors, but in doing so, accidentally confirmed a different actor who does make a surprise appearance in the movie: Daniel Craig.

While we very, very patiently await the full trailer for Spectre, the production has been keeping us occupied with photos and video blogs from the set, for which we should all be very, very grateful. The latest video update focuses on the classy, shiny (and very expensive) cars from the film, as well as the exciting chase sequences — because what is a Bond film without a good ol’ fashioned chase?
