Stephen Hawking Wants to Play a James Bond Villain
Stephen Hawking may be the subject of a biopic poised for Oscar gold with ‘The Theory of Everything,’ but it turns out that the renowned theoretical physicist has very different cinematic aspirations. In fact, if the ‘Brief History of Time’ author has his way, he’d play a role typically reserved for menacing European character actors: a James Bond villain.

It’s no secret that Academy Award winner Christoph Waltz has been cast as the main villain in the next James Bond adventure (which we’re all just calling ‘Bond 24’ for the moment). However, the exact nature of the role may have been revealed and, if it’s true, 007 fans all over the world will rejoice. Christoph Waltz Is Your New James Bond Villain
It was only a matter of time before Christoph Waltz, perpetual movie bad guy, was cast as a James Bond villain. Always the bridesmaid! Although we know the real villain in the next James Bond film, aka 'Bond 24,' is clearly the lack of an official title -- the film, which is scheduled to hit theaters in 2016 and has already begun casting (obviously) and we have no title. Is 'Bond 24' too unprofessional? Is 'The Force Awakens' already taken?

‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ Star Dave Bautista Cast as ‘Bond 24′ Villain
We'd previously heard that the 'Bond 24' filmmakers wanted the villain for the upcoming sequel to be unlike the modern day villains and instead a throwback to the big hulking henchmen like Jaws or Oddjob. The casting call was looking for "an imposing, extremely physically fit actor" over 6'2" tall. Not a ton of guys like that around, but the director Sam Mendes didn't have to look further than the biggest movie of the year.

While the newest James Bond movie still has no official title, that hasn't kept it from moving full-speed ahead, with Daniel Craig reprising the role of Agent 007 for Bond's 24th outing. The latest development has French actress and 'Blue Is the Warmest Color' star Lea Seydoux joining the cast in the role of a femme fatale -- someone who could make things quite complicated (and perhaps a bit sexy) for our suave protagonist.

Chiwetel Ejiofor wowed audiences with his stirring and hard-to-watch performance in Steve McQueen's Oscar-winning '12 Years a Slave,' and now, naturally, he's on multiple studios' radars for major upcoming films. While he's previously been rumored to be up for 'Star Wars: Episode 7,' word is he's now being eyed to play the new James Bond villain in the upcoming 'Bond 24.'

Will James Bond Battle Blofeld Again?
Though the franchise was successful under Pierce Brosnan's run, when Daniel Craig became James Bond the series got a new life and a rebooting, with 'Casino Royale' starting just as Bond received his license to kill. The series has done a lot of work to integrate previous Bond lore with its more modern approach (and recently re-introduced Miss Moneypenny), but now it seems the path is clear for Bon
