Amid a host of new developments announced at FX today, including company promotions and its first original animated series, 'Chozen,' to premiere on spinoff network FXX, the company announced that comedian Russell Brand's late-night talk show, 'Brand X with Russell Brand,' would no longer move forward. The cable network will keep in business with the comedian, however, developing an original scripted comedy to better highlight his talents.
Brand X with Russell Brand
Hot on the heels of 'Louie's three Emmy nominations, FX announced today that its much beloved and critically acclaimed comedy series will be returning for a thirteen episode fourth season next year. Also returning will be Russell Brand's late night talk show 'Brand X,' which will receive extensive re-tooling prior to hitting the air again.
June is finally upon us, meaning that cable rolls out its summer slate while the network giants slumber, or roll out some insane reality shows, or what have you. As for FX, this summer will not only see the second season of 'Wilfred' and the third season of 'Louie,' but also see the debut of Charlie Sheen's post-'Two and a Half Men' vehicle 'Anger Management' and FX's first late night foray 'Brand X with Russell Brand.' How would you like a sneak peek?
