Before Captain America: The First Avenger hit theaters and helped kickstart the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Marvel had much different ideas for Cap. Namely, a comedy. Before Iron Man became a hit, the original plan was for the Captain America movie to be funny, because they didn't know if audiences could take Cap seriously. The man they wanted to direct? Jon Favreau, the man who would eventually direct the first two Iron Man movies. These are just some of the facts packed into the latest episode of You Think You Know Movies, which heads back to WWII with Captain America: The First Avenger!

Every movie set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe contains at least a couple Easter eggs (along with a cameo from famous Marvel writer Stan Lee). They’re there — if you know where to look and what to look for (it helps to have spent a lifetime reading comic books and books about comic books and watching television shows based on comic books and you get the idea). Now here are some true heroes in action. Chris Evans won his Super Bowl bet with Chris Pratt last month, resulting in Pratt paying a visit to a children’s hospital dressed as Star-Lord. Be that as it may, Evans still decided to don his Captain America costume and visit a children’s hospital, too. That’s just the Captain America way.

I just sat down with Chris Evans, in full Captain America costume, on the Avengers: Age of Ultron set. After just the first question, Evans says, “I can’t tell you that.” Okay... The next question is equally as innocuous; something about the current “group dynamic” of the Avengers, or whatever. Evans pauses and glances behind him at a Marvel publicist, who shakes his head. “I don’t think I can tell you that either.”

Marvel’s Agent Carter at last got her “Valediction” with last night’s first season finale, finally letting go of Captain America, but surprisingly setting up The Winter Soldier along the way. ABC has yet to formally commit to Season 2, but what do Carter writers and executive producers have to say on its potential plot, and further Captain America crossover?

What secrets are hiding in the 30+ photos of Peggy’s final outing? We might have a clue!

Chris Pratt, Facebook
Marvel stars Chris Pratt and Chris Evans—Seahawks and Patriots fans, respectively—made a bet on Twitter on which of their teams would win the Super Bowl. At stake? The loser would have to visit a local charity dressed as their superhero. The Patriots beat the Seahawks in dramatic fashion, so Pratt, in full Star-Lord costume, lived up to his end of the bargain and visited Christopher's Haven, a home for kids and their families battling cancer in Boston.
