One Garth Ennis comic adaptation for Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg simply wasn’t enough, and now the duo are at it again. Following initial development, the two will next direct and produce an adaptation of Ennis’ superhero-policing The Boys at Cinemax, written by a familiar name for Supernatural fans.

The dead will surely walk for Robert Kirkman this coming weekend, but may do much worse by the time Cinemax’s Outcast premieres. A new trailer for the exorcism horror series puts the emphasis on evil in town, pulling out every scary camera trick in the book.

Comic adaptations from write Robert Kirkman have something of a pedigree already, to the point that Cinemax is already doubling down on exorcism thriller Outcast. Not only does the comic drama have an official June premiere, but already second season ordered months before a premiere.

Last we heard of period favorite The Knick, director Steven Soderbergh seemed ready to step down if Cinemax opted to press forward with a third and fourth season. There’s still no official word if The Knick will return, or in what capacity just yet, but now Soderbergh might return behind the camera after all, promising a “pretty extreme” third season.

It’s been a few weeks since the Season 2 finale of Cinemax-Soderbergh medical period drama The Knick, which itself … well, it didn’t leave prospects for the series (or star Clive Owen) in a great place. We’ve heard that Steven Soderbergh might step back for a possible third, even fourth season, but now the revered director envisions it to run as long as six.

For all the critical steam Steven Soderbergh and Clive Owen’s Cinemax period drama The Knick picked up over two seasons (the second of which ended just last night), the series has long been conceived and contracted to run only two years. At least one major character’s fate was left in doubt by the Season 2 finale, though Cinemax has officially begun consideration of a third, ordering an initial script.

Over the weekend, Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman’s new Cinemax venture Outcast scared up a fresh trailer for its 2016 debut, but those in attendance of the New York Comic-Con panel were treated to something much more indicative of the show’s creep factor: Gird your stomachs, and have a gander at the unsettling first clip for Robert Kirkman’s Outcast.

George R.R. Martin has more to his name than just Game of Thrones, and Cinemax may help prove that to your average TV viewer. The premium cable network has begun development of a new series based on Martin’s ‘80s werewolf novella Skin Trade, and there’s nothing about the phrase “80s werewolf novella” we can’t get behind.

As Hannibal fans this weekend (and billions of others before them) can attest, too long has the antiquated Nielsen ratings system given an incomplete picture of a show’s viewership, swaying networks to and fro of cancellation. We may finally have some progress however, as Nielsen will begin taking into account streaming data from the likes of Hulu, Netflix and beyond.
