The Comic-Con 2012 Warner Bros. panel on Saturday in Hall H is one of the biggest gatherings we've seen so far here in San Diego. Yeah, 'Resident Evil' and Disney pretty much blew us away, but Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures brought together three top dogs to Comic-Con's largest space -- 'Pacific Rim,' 'Man of Steel' and 'The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.'
First, Starz' 'Spartacus' series had to overcome the cries that it was a cheap knock-off of Zack Snyder's '300.' Through tremendous performances and nutty, soapy plotting, it did. Then it had to overcome the tragic death of its leading man, Andy Whitfield. By casting the more-than-capable Liam McIntyre, it did. Now, we've arrived at the third and final season of the show and if the new teaser is any indication, there is nothing standing in the way of 'Spartacus: War of the Damned' being the coolest thing to happen on your television in 2013.
'Breaking Bad,' probably the best series currently on television and arguably one of the greatest shows of all time, returns tomorrow night. AMC, knowing that they've got their audience addicted like junkies strung out of Heisenberg's trademark blue meth, have been playing coy with the details. However, if you need one last quick fix to prepare you for tomorrow's season premiere, all you have to do is scroll down and give the new three-minute trailer a watch.
Looks like Quentin Tarantino's upcoming 'Django Unchained' is big enough to get its own own panel inside Comic-Con 2012's Hall H, which previously housed large panels by Disney, Sony and 'The Walking Dead,' to name just a few. Well, when you add names like Leonardo DiCaprio, Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz and Samuel L. Jackson to Tarantino, it's bound to get some special attention.
Like the Disney panel on Thursday and the Marvel panel coming up on Saturday, the Comic-Con 2012 Sony panel is one of the long-awaited events at this year's San Diego convention. Three sets of movies accompanied by their cast and crew came together for this gathering of industry insiders and extremist fans in Hall H.
Marvel premiered the 'Avengers' spinoff short 'Item 47' at Comic-Con 2012 to a packed theater of fans who spent the past few days on a superhero-themed scavenger hunt across San Diego. We were there to get an early look at the new Marvel short, which debuts on the 'Avengers' DVD and Blu-ray.
