Anyone who saw 'Captain America: The First Avenger' was no doubt taken with Hayley Atwell as Steve Rogers' no-nonsense lady love, Peggy Carter. While the character has been severely scaled down in the sequel, 'The Winter Soldier,' it's heartening to know that we've got more Peggy to look forward to when she gets her own spinoff short film!

Now that we're getting closer to Comic-Con 2013 in San Diego, it's time to start planning, especially since more and more panel appearances are being announced.

While we had an inkling that Marvel and Lucasfilm would be leaving out their upcoming lineups from the convention's events (you can read more about that here), new reports state that 'Captain America 2,' at least, will be hitting up Comic-Con 2013 with its own panel.

At last year's Comic-Con, Marvel held the last panel on Saturday night and they did it in grand fashion. Edgar Wright came on stage and showed the very first footage from 'Ant-Man.' The 'Guardians of the Galaxy' lineup was revealed. And Robert Downey, Jr. came dancing down the aisles of Hall H to introduce 'Iron Man 3.' Director Neill Blomkamp's feature film debut 'District 9' took Comic-Con by storm in 2009. A science-fiction offering that managed to deliver stunning effects, cultural relevance, an original story and a tragically beautiful character arc in one fell swoop, 'D 9' thrust Blomkamp onto the world stage in a significant way and was eventually nominated for an Academy Award.

His follow-up film, 'Elysium,' is easily one of the most highly anticipated films of next year. Matt Damon, Jodi Foster and 'District 9''s Sharlto Copley star in the film which is "set in the year 2159, where the very wealthy live on a man-made space station while the rest of population reside on a ruined Earth. The story follows a man (Damon) who takes on a mission that could bring equality to the polarized worlds."

We had the opportunity to sit down with Blomkamp at this year's Con to discuss the trend he sees in big Hollywood event films, what an actor's celebrity brings to a story and taking on politically charged cinema.
