Yesterday we caught our first look at 'Community's Greendale gang gloriously recreated as puppets for Thursday's all-new episode "Intro to Felt Surrogacy," along with confirmation that the out-there concept episode would once again feature the 'Community' stars breaking out into song. Now, yet another preview for the highly-anticipated episode has arrived, featuring our first look at 'Seinfeld' star Jason Alexander! But who is the mysterious mountain man?
Though still somewhat early in the Upfront seasons, several major broadcast networks have already gone ahead to grant early renewals to their strongest-performing series. Given NBC's troubled lineup over the past few months, however, no firm plans have been laid among even its strongest hits. Though, that may change in the near future as rumors of early NBC renewals have leaked, so find out which shows have the best chances inside!
'Community' has long been revered for its out-there genre episodes, though the current season under showrunner David Guarascio and Moses Port has played it somewhat safe across the first half. That will all change this Thursday as "Intro to Felt Surrogacy" sees the Greendale gang re-imagined as puppets, but what does the latest clip from the episode reveal? More than just puppets, the 'Community' cast will be singing once again, backed by musical guest Sara Bareilles!
Last night's all-new 'Community' episode "Herstory of Dance" ran the gamut among critics, but in most cases offered up one of the better, and more evenly balanced episodes of season. Curiously however, its ending tag didn't add anything to the episode itself, but rather gave a preview to next week's puppet-centric "Intro to Felt Surrogacy." We didn't think anything of it at the time, but how would you like to see the episode's alternate ending?
After a short break, 'Community' returns this week with an all-new episode in which Dean Pelton plans a Sadie Hawkins dance, while Britta plans a competing Sophie B. Hawkins dance (remember her? Yeah...).
Just when we thought that 'Community' season 4 had booked up all the guest stars it had to offer across its 13-episode span, gravity knocks us to the ground. Singer/song-writer Sara Bareilles is the latest to sign on for an appearance in an upcoming episode of the struggling NBC comedy, appearing in "Intro to Felt Surrogacy," the upcoming puppet episode that also features 'Seinfeld' vet Jason Alexander. Find out who Sara Bareilles will play in the final episodes of 'Community' inside!
It's been a good while since the various 'Community' controversies have reared their ugly heads, from Dan Harmon's exit to the war of words and fellow exit of series star Chevy Chase. Ratings have been largely steady, if disappointing for 'Community's fourth season, but while fans wait for news of a renewal, what does series star Joel McHale have to say of the real reasons Chevy Chase left the series? Find out the latest on 'Community' inside!
After last week's abysmal episode, this week's new 'Community' is automatically better by default -- but it's also a mostly solid episode with more consistent laughs than we've gotten in recent weeks. And it brings the return of Magnitude! Pop pop!
At this point, I wonder if we'll ever see the Dan Harmon-free 'Community' as its own thing. With NBC losing so many first season shows (and now second season shows like 'Smash'), the likelihood of 'Community' carrying on for another season seems more and more likely, so when does it become accepted as a new thing?
We're five episodes in on the Dan Harmon-less 'Community,' and though there's been some moments here and there, it's been a rough season, not helped by having themed episodes that are coming out months after the fact. Like tonight's "Cooperative Escapism in Familial Relations," which is a Thanksgiving episode in March. At least we'll get to Christmas before July.
