DC's TV superhero stock grew even higher this week with the news that a 'Supergirl' series has begun development, and the playing field will get even more crowded if NBC's 'Constantine' has anything to say about it. To wit, Irish actor Emmett Scanlan has been added to the recurring cast of NBC's occult drama, portraying the eventual alter-ego of occult DC superhero "The Spectre"!

NBC's 'Constantine' seemingly rededicated itself to exploring DC roots its the most recent casting, and at long last, the TV adaptation of our 'Hellblazer' demon detective has its big bad. Michael James Shaw has been cast in the 'Constantine' role of the villainous Papa Midnite, a "formidable magical adversary" for our leading man.

NBC's 'Constantine' TV series brought to Comic-Con 2014 an updated version of its pilot to help explain its early season cast change, but also the good news that veteran genre composer Bear McCreary would score the series based on DC's 'Hellblazer' comic. Now, a new featurette for the 'Constantine' TV series reveals McCreary's moody composure, blending hard rock with harpischord for DC's demon detective.

NBC's take on the DC Comics line 'Hellblazer' isn't pulling any punches when it comes to the creepy stuff -- this is a television series about demons, after all -- and they're out in force in this new trailer for the 'Constantine,' straight out of this week's steadily winding down Comic-Con. The new series follows demon hunter/con guy (totally normal vocation) John Constantine (Matt Ryan) as he, well, cons people and fights demons. It's not very lucrative, but it's definitely busy.

It's San Diego Comic-Con 2013, and ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’ stars Andrew Garfield, Dane DeHaan and Jamie Foxx are sitting next to their director, Marc Webb, on the Hall H stage, ready to face the thousands of comic book and movie fans in attendance during a Q&A. A kid, maybe in his late teens, makes his way up to the mic and addresses a question to Garfield himself. Identifying himself as a gay Asian American, he wanted to know if the actor felt any pressure in making his stance on LGBT equality known, referring to previous comments made by the actor.
