Director Luc Besson’s latest project is yet another sci-fi film, but unlike Lucy, this one looks a bit closer in style and tone to The Fifth Element. Based on the classic French graphic novel series, Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets has the potential to be quite epic, and hopefully we’ll get a better sense of what to expect when the film hits Hall H at Comic-Con later today. Until then, EuropaCorp has unveiled a new official image from the upcoming film, featuring a very determined Dane DeHaan.

One of the more intriguing upcoming blockbusters is Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets (or just Valerian, for short), Luc Besson’s long-developing sci-fi film based on the classic French graphic novel series. Starring Cara Delevingne and Dane DeHaan as a pair of spatio-temporal agents, the futuristic new project shares some aesthetic DNA with The Fifth Element, as you can see in Besson’s collection of photos from the set.

The Weinstein Company sure did pick a clever time to release the trailer for Tulip Fever, capitalizing on today’s news of Alicia Vikander’s casting as Lara Croft in the Tomb Raider reboot. The Oscar-winning actress stars in the studio’s seductive new period drama opposite Christoph Waltz and Dane DeHaan, and judging by the trailer, it looks like she’s playing a 17th century Dutch version of F—, Marry, Kill.

Between The Fifth Element and Lucy, Luc Besson has proven that he has some pretty visionary and ambitious ideas when it comes to sci-fi movies, and while they don't always work, they're never not interesting to watch. Chronicle made Dane DeHaan an actor to watch. Then The Amazing Spider-Man 2 ambled along and took him down a peg (or five). Thankfully, DeHaan has an actual, proper movie from an actual, proper filmmaker waiting in the wings, giving him a chance to play one of popular culture’s most enigmatic figures alongside a crop of interesting actors. We’re not entirely sold on the Life trailer, but it’s a start.

In the 1990s, Luc Besson looked like the next European director to take Hollywood by storm. Each of movies made a bigger impact in the U.S. than the one before it; La Femme Nikita, The Professional, and The Fifth Element. But just as he cracked through to the mainstream, Besson pivoted away from directing and became more of a mini-mogul, running his EuropaCorp production company and cranking out action flicks that he would often co-write and produce but not direct like District B13, Lockout, and The Transporter and Taken franchises.

Dane DeHaan's Harry Osborn doesn't become the villainous Green Goblin until the third act of 'The Amazing Spider-Man 2' and he couldn't be more different than the previous cinematic take on the character. While original 'Spider-Man' director Sam Raimi put the iconic villain inside a full suit of armor, Marc Webb opted to pursue something slightly closer to the original comic book counterpart, givi
