It was less than two weeks ago that David Bowie passed away, presumably returning to the great, wide, weird galaxies of space from which he came — which makes this particular bit of news TOO SOON. Tri-Star and Jim Henson Co. are rebooting Labyrinth, Jim Henson’s classic 1986 fantasy film that introduced an entire generation of oblivious kids to the magic of David Bowie. On the good news side of things, Guardians of the Galaxy co-writer Nicole Perlman has been tapped to write the screenplay. So that’s something? Maybe?

The late, great David Bowie inspired countless artists of all stripes during his time on planet Earth. As a musician, an actor, a personality, and an encapsulation of all things odd, weird and wonderful, he touched countless lives...including former SNL star Fred Armisen, who returned to the stage during last night's episode to pay homage to Bowie in the most appropriate way possible: by sharing a clip from his appearance on the show back in 1979.

David Bowie, the highly influential singer, songwriter, actor, producer and artist, died on Sunday at the age of 69 after a bout with cancer his publicist and family confirmed early this morning.

And lo, Hannibal has come to a very permanent-seeming end, closing out Season 3 with a redux of the Red Dragon arc that saw its two leads on a very literal cliffhanger, and another character losing quite a bit of limb. Continually optimistic about a movie wrap-up, creator Bryan Fuller talks his idea for Season 4 and the inevitable Silence of the Lambs treatment, which may or may not involve Ellen Page and David Bowie.

Back before NBC officially decided to renew the darkly delicious 'Hannibal' for season 2, series creator Bryan Fuller expressed a desire to cast glam rock legend David Bowie as Hannibal's oft-mentioned uncle, among other envisioned castings. Now, Fuller has reportedly extended an official offer to Bowie, and has another 'Pushing Daisies' alum in mind for the literary role of Barney!

Moderate though the ratings may be, we're extremely eager to see NBC's 'Hannibal' granted an additional season, especially after all the pickups the network handed out today.
