It's been a long time coming for Mulder and Scully's return (especially past that pesky 2012 alien invasion), but The X-Files have officially been re-opened. Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny return, along with a host of familiar faces in the first of FOX's two-part 2016 X-Files trailer!

Unlike most fictional foils on television, Charles Manson is a name with which you’re already familiar. It’s a name that holds a certain sinister power, making the fictive version of the notorious maniac incredibly unnerving before he even hits the screen in Aquarius, NBC’s detective drama starring David Duchovny as an LAPD investigator whose latest case puts him face to face with the murderous Manson family. The first season of Aquarius hits DVD and Blu-ray today, and to honor the release we’re looking back at the film and television history of one of America’s most notorious criminals.

If you just can’t wait until January 24, 2016 to check out FOX’s revival of The X-Files, and if you just happen to be around New York next month, then you’re in luck: the network will debut the new premiere episode of The X-Files at New York Comic-Con with Spooky Mulder himself (that’s David Duchovny if you want to be proper).

Still a ways off in 2016, FOX’s X-Files event series revival has kept classified most of its footage and photos, but fans needn’t wait any longer for the reunion between FBI Assistant Director Skinner and his two weirdest agents. However shrouded in mystery by its frustratingly short teasers, FOX’s 2016 X-Files revival seems to be jam-packing its six-episode run with past series stars. The latest at least offers some notable history for the franchise, as Annabeth Gish will return to the role of FBI agent Monica Reyes.

The X-Files’ 2016 return hasn’t revealed very much beyond a few photos and scant teases of new footage, but a number of familiar faces will at least populate Mulder and Scully’s revived investigation. Comedian and Silicon Valley star Kumail Nanjiani is the latest to sign on for The X-Files event series, but as whom?
