After being delayed by 'The Dark Knight Rises' theater shooting, and after a round of reshoots that removed gunplay in a theater setting, it looks like 'Gangster Squad' is back into fighting shape, and now there's a new trailer that shows a lot of new footage (and removes the shootout in the theater).

'Gangster Squad' Poster Photoshops the Hell Out of Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone

Warner Bros.
'Gangster Squad' was delayed, and it seems Warner Bros. is using this time (un)wisely to do more marketing -- like making this horrible new poster that Photoshops the life right out of all of the actors. How could you do this to Ryan Gosling, you guys?!

'Amazing Spider-Man 2' - Where the Rebooted Franchise Will Go Next

“Ultimately the audience will tell us if they want one.” That’s ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ director Marc Webb talking recently about ‘Amazing Spider-Man 2.’ But this is a silly statement because, first of all, the audience didn’t really want a ‘Spider-Man’ reboot yet got one anyway, and, second, Sony has actually been planning the trilogy for a while now. In fact, 'Amazing Spider-Man 2' is already in the rewrite stage, courtesy of ‘Transformers’ scribes Alex Kurtzman and Robert Orci, and is set for release on May 2, 2014. So what will happen in 'Amazing Spider-Man 2?'

Sony senses they have something special on their hands with Marc Webb’s upcoming reboot ‘The Amazing Spider-Man.’ Tracking numbers released on Thursday say the film could earn as much as $125 million over the July 4 frame. (The numbers were slightly behind ‘The Avengers,’ and we all know how that movie played out.) And early reviews hitting the Web have been positive. So Sony’s making a wise decision and bringing Spidey to the fans earlier than expected. Find out how you can get tickets!

'Amazing Spider-Man' Producer: Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield Are the Hepburn-Tracy of Modern Time

EDIT

If Kevin Feige is the Nick Fury of Marvel Movies, Avi Arad represents those video-conferenced faces that show up in 'Avengers.' He's the producer who saved the company from bankruptcy then got the ball rolling, leading us to this halcyon time where fanboys can expect multiple comic book movies a year.
Like a true Marvel character, his great accomplishments came at a great cost. By getting the Marvel movies cooking and to minimize risk he set up properties at different film studios. That's why 'Fantastic Four' is at Fox and 'Spider-Man' is at Sony, while the rest of our heroes are eating shawarma at Disney. It's the original sin of our summer movies, but try to remember that without the original success of 'X-Men,' none of this would have been possible, and that was Avi Arad's doing.
Beside him is Matthew Tolmach, wearing a handsome vest with no flair. He was the head of production at Sony/Columbia Pictures for eight years and 'Amazing Spider-Man' is his first big picture as a producer.
We only had a few minutes to chat, and like a chump I wasted a few minutes babbling about movie swag before talking about why Emma Stone is the key to 'Amazing Spider-Man' and how her chemistry with star Andrew Garfield reminds them of a very famous movie couple...

'Amazing Spider-Man' Clip: The Lizard Attacks

This is a win-win situation. Emma Stone’s so impossibly charming that we’d happily post every talk-show appearance she’s ever made. How are you not won over by this personable beauty? But as an added bonus, she brings a new clip from ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ to NBC’s ‘The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.’ See what I said? Win win.
