Near of the world’s entire population dies of a virus, and The Last Man on Earth still manages to run into celebrity after celebrity. The latest offers another SNL (and MacGruber!) reunion, as Kristen Wiig will appear on Last Man in a top-secret role later in Season 3.

It took the X-Men films over a decade to finally introduce the iconic Sentinel robots, but will TV manage to do it far sooner? That’s the word on FOX’s as-yet-untitled X-Men TV series, which producers claim will feature the mutant-hunting baddies, “though very different from what we’ve seen before.”
It’s generally accepted Gotham practice, that because the series would take a decade or so to elevate David Mazouz’s Bruce Wayne to Batman, some of the character’s greatest foes have arisen inexplicably early. So it was with the Joker-esque Jerome, and now Season 3 may be introducing a Harley Quinn character before the year is out.
Gotham has not been particularly coy with Cameron Monaghan’s return as our sort-of-Joker Jerome, though we’ve yet to see the villain up and about. That chances with a new midseason return promo, in which Jerome’s resurrection veers closer to a very famous comic tale.
It remains unlikely that Jack Bauer will lever hand off the 24: Legacy in person, but the new FOX reboot is nonetheless trotting out some very familiar faces. See Tony Almeida’s return in a fresh trailer for 24: Legacy, ahead of its post-Super Bowl premiere.
FX X-Men drama Legion has understandably pulled focus for its February premiere, but what of Burn Notice creator Matt Nix’s FOX series, which was said to feature a couple with mutant children on the run? Reports indicate a pilot order is heating up, while Nix himself previews the untitled series’ place within the X-Men films.
Whether or not FOX ever gets The X-Files back for another case, Michael Scofield and the Prison Break crew are raring to go in their own revival this spring. A brand-new trailer reveals both Michael’s return from the grave and our new setting, while FOX finally sets an official premiere.
Perhaps the only thing to stifle anticipation for another X-Files revival was the first X-Files revival, though FOX undoubtedly wants the chance to try again. That may soon become a reality, as network heads claim they hope to announce the next chapter “shortly,” potentially even for the next TV season.
DC fans knew that FOX’s Gotham was unlikely to meet up with the CW heroes of Arrow or The Flash, though the latter’s visit to CBS’ Supergirl at least raised hope that FOX’s upcoming Black Lightning could join the next big crossover. Not so, it seems as DC TV boss Greg Berlanti seems to think FOX’s newest superhero will stand on his own for now.
Time will tell if we ever see The Simpsons attempting another theatrical venture, but in the meantime, mid-January will pad Season 28’s runtime a bit with a first-ever hourlong episode. The hour in question will re-imagine The Great Gatsby with a hip-hop bent, while you can see the first footage with star Keegan-Michael Key right now.
