It’s been a good long while since we’ve had anything (positive) to say about FOX Bat-prequel Gotham, but with Jim Gordon, baby Bruce and all the rest getting ready to return on April 13, the latest trailers finally seem to push Edward Nygma’s proto-Riddler off the deep end into full-blown super-villainy.

Somewhat unsurprising though FOX’s decision to revive The X-Files for an event series turned out, fans of the iconic sci-fi series all wonder where new episodes will pick up, and who beside David Duchovny, Gillian Anderson and creator Chris Carter might return. Now, at least four famous alum have been targeted, while Carter himself has revealed several tantalizing new details.

The moderate success of FOX’s 24 return helped fuel speculation that The X-Files could similarly prove a prime candidate for limited series, and according to rumor, a Mulder and Scully reunion is closer than ever. FOX is reportedly preparing to greenlight a new X-Files series, albeit with one major limitation.

FOX’s Sleepy Hollow has had a rough going in Season 2, losing a great deal of its breakout audience, suffering creatively by most accounts, even losing showrunner Mark Goffman in recent weeks. So-called “Sleepyheads” can rest easy however, as FOX has renewed the time-travel horror-thriller for a third season, bringing in a new series head as well.

More and more cord-cutting seems to prove a viable option, especially now that HBO has made the leap to offer its own independent streaming-service, beginning with Apple this spring. Now, a new report suggests Apple will plan its own independent streaming platform for approximately 25 channels, due to become available this fall.

We’ve seen The Simpsons take on Game of Thrones before, but the May 3 outing of Season 26 really will prove dark and full of terrors. Carice van Houten, the Red Priestess Melisandre herself, will give voice to the long-running animated series, and the actress’ very name may give away her role.

Sam Simon, Co-Creator of ‘The Simpsons,’ Dead at Age 59

It’s another sad day for The Simpsons and the world at large, as series executive producer Al Jean confirmed news that co-creator Sam Simon passed away on Sunday, at the age of 59, in Los Angeles. The Emmy-winning Simon had also written for such TV legends as Taxi and Cheers, battling a cancer diagnosis since 2012.

Just as FOX’s Gotham begins to lose a major character with no place in DC comics (or really even the show anymore), a Fox-y new player steps in. Homeland and 12 Years a Slave star Chris Chalk will appear in an upcoming episode as Wayne Enterprises tech genius Lucius Fox, a character who, gosh, might actually seem relevant to the story of a young Bruce Wayne.
