In 1984 Tim Burton released a live action short film called 'Frankenweenie,' starring Shelley Duvall and Daniel Stern. It told the story of a young Victor Frankenstein, who reanimates his beloved dog after the pooch gets killed in a hit and run accident. 28 years later and Burton has taken that concept and developed it into a full, animated feature for Disney.
