We were already dismayed to learn that Hulu likely wouldn't exercise its option to resurrect 'Community,' though it seems the streaming service has its eye on at least one star, and an even bigger name. A new report says that Judd Apatow is plotting his next TV series, and currently eying Gillian Jacobs for a 'Love'-ly leading role in a major get for Hulu.

The pain of 'Community''s recent cancellation continually lingers, but who couldn't use something to make it hurt even more? Amid the cult and critical favorite's many genre episodes, we've learned that the NBC comedy had long attempted to bring to light a 'Back to the Future'-themed concept episode at the insistence of departed cast member Donald Glover, though a notable snag prevented the episode from moving forward.

HBO proved a bit cagey in confirming that 'True Detective' had any involvement from Jessica Chastain, but another critically-acclaimed HBO series isn't hesitating to scoop up a fan-favorite actress. Fresh off the 'Community' cancellation, 'Girls' season 4 has added Gillian Jacobs to Britta Lena Dunham's life in a mysterious recurring role.

Well, this feels familiar. 'Community' astonishingly gravitated closer and closer to its "Six Seasons and a Movie" mantra, particularity when season 5 saw acclaimed showrunner Dan Harmon return to the fold, but NBC has at long last called it quits. 'Community' has officially been canceled, according to the network, but will the Greendale Gang go on?

Logical as it might seem for NBC to bite the bullet on one more shortened season of 'Community' to reach its "six seasons and a movie" mantra, fans of Dan Harmon's eternally-bubbling series may be in for a rude awakening. Writer-producer Chris McKenna has cryptically tweeted that 'Community' is "dead," preparing fans for the notion that NBC may not include the series among its ongoing renewals.
UPDATE: NBC has officially announced that 'Community' has indeed been canceled.

It all starts out with such promise. Steven Brill’s latest comedy, ‘Walk of Shame,’ introduces us to Meghan Miles (Elizabeth Banks), polished television news anchor, by way of a series of dramatized versions of famous newscast flubs that highlight exactly what Meghan is not – she’s not unprepared, she’s not unprofessional, and she’s not without some serious skills.
She is, however, without a clue.

A few days ago, I was offered an interview with Gillian Jacobs -- who is promoting her new film, the Elizabeth Banks comedy, 'Walk of Shame.' "Sure," I said, because I've always enjoyed Jacobs' work on 'Community.' Then I asked, When can I see the movie?” At that time, there weren’t any screenings scheduled, and unfortunately, there wasn't enough time to set up a new one, so I went into this interview not knowing much more than what was available in the trailer. So, not much, unfortunately.
I debated between faking my way though, or just being honest. I went with the honest approach. So, we tried our best -- but, in reality, we were just two strangers on the phone with not that much to talk about. Sure, we tried to engage in small talk -- we really did -- the weather was even brought up at one point, which is not the best sign that you're doing a good job at keeping another person's attention. I brought up 'Community,' in passing. And, you know what, there were were a couple of interesting moments -- we even shared a couple of laughs! Then, we said our goodbyes, hung up the phone, and went on with our lives. A life, in which for me, still exists without seeing 'Walk of Shame.' Someday, I will see 'Walk of Shame' and someday all of this will make sense.
