Last week, Split had a huge opening and everyone noted that M. Night Shyamalan was unquestionably back. But now, in week two, it feels a little more official. The second weekend saw the film holding onto its spot at the top of the box office charts, but it also did so while dropping a percentage most movies would kill for. In other words, people like Split and are telling their friends to go see it.

Matthew McConaughey has an Oscar; his name and “Academy Award Winner” is the first thing you see in this teaser for Gold. But I think he wants more. Everytime he says “gold” in this clip for Gold, about a guy who wants gold and tries to find gold and get rich by getting gold, I hear gold statue. It’s the largest gold find of the decade! There‘s no way to possibly describe the feeling! It’s amazing how a little gold can change everything!

Gold is the title of Matthew McConaughey’s new movie — it also happens to be the color of the Oscar statue, which is fitting, as the latest effort from filmmaker Stephen Gaghan (Syriana) looks like it could make the beloved actor an awards season contender once again. The first trailer for the holiday season release has arrived, touting a bald and bold McConaughey as man desperate to strike it rich. Spoiler: He does, but that treasure comes at a cost (insert sad trombone).
