TV has become increasingly on-demand, to the point even HBO caved on a cord-cutting solution, and now Showtime has followed suit. The premium cable network has announced a July launch for its new online streaming subscription, and one cheaper than HBO’s option at that.

Showtime’s Homeland pivots into yet another soft reboot in Season 5, this time taking Carrie to Germany via time-jump, and out of the CIA altogether. She certainly won’t be alone however, as the network has cast four new major characters for the season, including a Lord of the Rings alum and a new love interest for Carrie.
Well hello there, TV super-fan! Did you know that Breaking Bad breakout Jesse Pinkman was almost killed off in Season 1? How about that Joss Whedon hated the original Buffy theme song, or Curb Your Enthusiasm served as a murder alibi? Can you imagine LOST starring Michael Keaton? Why yes, we do have more where that came from!
Apart from ending on a whimper, few would argue of Homeland’s fourth season that a rebooted focus on Carrie as an international intelligence officer revitalized the Emmy-winner out of its Brody boredom, but will the same hold true of Season 5? The Showtime drama’s producers are apparently planning a major time-jump for the next run, along with literal and figurative changes to Carrie’s landscape.
Top 10 lists rank among the more unusual aspects of movie and TV criticism, and as my colleagues Ryan McGee, Matt Singer, and Mike Sampson’s own 2014 favorites will attest, the end-of-year celebration format brings with it a unique mixture of...
Showtime's 'Homeland' has been chugging along in its fourth season sans Brody (well, almost), just as critics have continually raved about adultery drama 'The Affair,' and fans of either should have a bright and sunny 2015. Showtime has officially renewed Carrie Mathison and co. to return for a fifth season next year, continuing its illicit 'Affair' for a second season as well.
Showtime may have said a temporary farewell to 'Masters of Sex' and 'Ray Donovan' with last night's season 2 finales, but Sunday powerhouse 'Homeland' will begin anew in two weeks time with its October 5 season 4 premiere. To wit, the first clip from two-hour premiere opener "Drone Queen" has arrived, offering a bit of insight into Carrie's new foreign objective abroad, and what Corey Stoll's character has to do with it all.
Now that 'Masters of Sex' and 'Ray Donovan' are winding down their second seasons (don't worry, they'll be back next year), all eyes are on 'Homeland' season 4 to reboot itself and return to Emmy-winning roots with an all-new story. Yet another, even more in-depth trailer for season 4 has arrived, begging the question, can't Corey Stoll be in everything?
'Homeland' will undergo something of a metamorphosis in its fourth season, shifting from the story of Carrie Mathison (Claire Danes) and Nicholas Brody (Damian Lewis) to a more generalized tale of an intelligence officer in a foreign country. We've seen one trailer to date, but the newest look at 'Homeland' season 4 gives off a much better look at the ensemble, promising a two-hour premiere to remember.
'Homeland' season 4 has a dangerous task ahead of it, and we're not just talking about Carrie's new mission through Afghanistan and Pakistan. This October will see the premiere of Showtime's Emmy-winning drama as it moves beyond the Brody story of seasons 1 through 3, so have a look with the first full trailer, premiere date, and a brand-new poster!
