It’s a good week to be Robin Wright, both for Wonder Woman love and her House of Cards rise to power, but the increasingly-quaint Netflix drama doesn’t yet have the Season 6 renewal to explore Claire’s future. Should it return, bosses promise that Claire will be the one tearing down the fourth wall, which could drastically reinvent the show.

Once upon a time, Netflix ordered House of Cards for two seasons as a bold experiment in original programming. The streaming service has gotten far more ruthless with its vast lineup since, but does the political thriller have the juice for a sixth year, or beyond? Bosses say there’s “nothing absolute or nothing agreed upon.”

Netflix has been notably quiet on House of Cards Season 5, especially with a May premiere looming (already moved back from Q1). Appetite for political drama is understandably fickle these days, but get a new look at Season 5 with fresh photos and intel on how the Underwood administration will interact with Trump’s.

Just yesterday, we confirmed that House of Cards would move from its winter perch to premiere in April or beyond, and leave it to Frank Underwood to pull focus with a dramatic announcement. Season 5 is coming in May, and the first teaser somehow manages to make America bleak again.

Oft-stated throughout 2016 was the sentiment that even heightened political realities like House of Cards would find our real-life election far-fetched.
