The third and, as far as anyone’s saying, final installment in Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine movies is coming out a mere six months form now, but so far everything about it has remained a mystery. We know that Jackman is in it, but we don’t know a whole lot more than that, aside from a possible R rating. We’re bound to get more news soon, but for now Jackman himself is the only one giving us any clues as to what his next movie will be like.

The Wolverine 3 (or 2, if we’re ignoring X-Men: Origins, and we should) hits theaters in about six months, which means we should be seeing a teaser trailer…well, any day now, really. Rest assured, director James Mangold is working hard to deliver the first footage from the upcoming sequel, but until then, Bryan Singer has confirmed a major X-Men villain for Hugh Jackman’s final outing as the iconic superhero.

The Wolverine 3 marks the ninth time Hugh Jackman has played the iconic X-Men character on the big screen, and as he’s long promised, the upcoming film will also be his last in the series. But as production wraps on James Mangold’s untitled Wolverine sequel, it looks like the X-franchise isn’t the only thing Jackman is bidding farewell to — he’s also saying goodbye to Logan’s signature facial scruff.

In a new interview, Patrick Stewart reveals that Wolverine 3 (or 2, if you’re ignoring X-Men Origins) may very well feature his last appearance as Professor Charles Xavier.

The Greatest Showman on Earth has been in development since 2009, with Hugh Jackman attached to play the role of iconic circus creator P.T. Barnum. Now that his time as Wolverine is coming to an end, the actor has a little more room on his schedule to tend to the long-gestating musical, which is close to lining up Jackman’s first co-star.

Some new photos from the set of The Wolverine 3 popped up online the other day, featuring Hugh Jackman, our first look at Patrick Stewart and one unidentifiable young co-star. A new rumor may shed some light on the identity of the mysterious actress — or at least who she’s playing in the upcoming sequel — and it’s someone you’ve probably already guessed.

Following our first look at a scruffy, bearded Hugh Jackman, more new photos from the set of The Wolverine 3 have popped up online, giving us a peek at Patrick Stewart’s return as Professor Charles Xavier. To be honest, he doesn’t look like he’s feeling so good in these pics, which also feature Jackman and a mysterious kid co-star — which makes this look like Two and a Half X-Men.

Although The Wolverine 3 (or is it The Wolverine 2? There was only one The Wolverine, but it was the second Wolverine movie, god these titles are confusing), doesn’t have an officially announced title yet, most folks seem to expect the movie will be called some variation of Old Man Logan. Because, well, Hugh Jackman is getting old. All right, not that old. (He’s 47.) But supposedly this is grand farewell to the character that made him an international superstar. Old Man Logan (the name of a mini-series about a senior Wolverine living in a post-apocalyptic society) would make a fitting coda for his 17 years as the character.

If you didn’t know that these photos are from the set of The Wolverine 2, then you might assume that Hugh Jackman is currently filming a movie in which he plays an older but no less sharply-dressed James Bond. Suit? Check. Nice car? Check. Graying beard? Check. The name’s Logan. Old Man Logan.

Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine was teased in the second trailer for X-Men: Apocalypse, but given that his part was more of a glorified cameo, that little teaser may have felt like a spoiler to some — even though Wolverine appearing in a new X-Men movie is hardly surprising. Hardly. As it turns out, Jackman almost had a bigger role to play in the new sequel, but it was ultimately reduced to avoid detracting from Jennifer Lawrence’s Mystique.
