We're used to seeing the last minute additions of actors join the cast for random superhero movies, but the character that's being cast for 'Iron Man 3' has some fans scratching their heads. It's not that they don't want to see the character on the big screen, but how will he fit in the grand scheme of the story?
Iron Man 3
Okay, so who exactly is Tony Stark/Iron Man facing in the third movie? All of the cast is coming together but we're still not really sure who the villain is. Scratch that, what we meant to say is that most comic fans know who's going to be the villain in 'Iron Man 3,' but for some reason Marvel's taking a long time to announce it. Today we may have finally gotten our confirmation.
Lest you thought Ben Kingsley would be the only one to torment Tony Stark in 'Iron Man 3' think again. Marvel Studios is in talks with James Badge Dale ('The Grey,' the upcoming 'Lone Ranger') to star in the film as an additional villain. Dale will star as Eric Savin, a character who in the comics became known as "Coldblood."
Last we reported, 2011's "It Girl" Jessica Chastain was the leading contender for the sexy scientist role in 'Iron Man 3,' but then passed. Which opened the door to a new round of casting (and casting rumors). Well, the film has made an offer to another actress, and it's Rebecca Hall, the female lead in 'The Town.'
2011's 'It girl' and Oscar nominee Jessica Chastain must have a lot of offers, but it seems that Marvel and Shane Black want her in 'Iron Man 3.' She's gone back in for more talks to play a sexy scientist (in cinema there are few female scientists who aren't) for the film, and would join the recently added Guy Pearce and Ben Kingsley if so.
Just about two weeks ago, it was announced that Ben Kingsley would star as the villain in the upcoming 'Iron Man 3.' Today we have news about another new addition to the superhero sequel. Guy Pearce, soon to be seen starring in Ridley Scott's 'Prometheus,' has joined the cast in a role comic readers will be familiar with...
Brace yourselves, ‘Iron Man’ fans. News just broke that the third installment in the popular franchise will be co-produced in China, all but guaranteeing that the name "Mandarin" will be written nearly 500,000 in superhero message boards as speculation runs rampant that the legendary nemesis will play some part in the sequel.
The 'Iron Man' films haven't always been good (see: 'Iron Man 2') but have always cast some pretty talented and impressive actors as their villains (see: Oscar-winner Jeff Bridges and Oscar-nominee Mickey Rourke). That trend continues with the upcoming 'Iron Man 3' which looks to add Oscar-winner ('Gandhi') and three-time Oscar-nominee Ben Kingsley to its cast as the film's villain.
But who will Kingsley be playing?
