Once again, Saturday Night Live has their finger on the pulse of what people are talking about around water coolers all over the nation. Last week's vice presidential debate between Joe Biden and Paul Ryan has already become the stuff of internet legend, so it was a no-brainer for the cold open this week.

SNL has never been shy about skewering politics and with last night's season premiere, it came out swinging. The cold open was as aggressively political (and hilarious) as the show has ever been, introducing a new performer as President Obama and satirizing the current presidential race.

In April, we reported that Jason Sudeikis, Kristen Wiig and Andy Samberg were all likely to be leaving 'Saturday Night Live' at the end of its season. Wiig and Samberg have already told the world they aren't returning, and it looks like Sudeikis is about to file his two week notice.

Following the tear-stained farewell to Kristen Wiig this past weekend on 'SNL,' the Foo Fighters (who joined musical guest Mick Jagger for a performance on the show) took the stage with several of the series' stars for one hell of an after party.

This weekend on 'Saturday Night Live,' Kristen Wiig was given a teary farewell. Though rumors had swirled that she was leaving, the final sketch/song left no doubt that the episode was Wiig's last. What was odd is that both Andy Samberg and Jason Sudeikis were also rumored to leave. Were they ignored?

One of the best things about Saturday Night Live alumni returning to host the show is a chance to see some of their iconic characters return. When it comes to modern SNL, you don't get much more iconic than Will Ferrell's George W. Bush, who returned to the show to rub elbows with Fred Armisen's Barack Obama and Jason Sudeikis' Joe Biden.

'Saturday Night Live' is an institution at this point, and will never leave as long as there's no real competition. But it does go through stages. It looks like this year will end another era, as it's being reported that Kristen Wiig, Andy Samberg and Jason Sudeikis will all leave at the end of the year.
