Earlier this week we got the decidedly un-shocking news that 'Jersey Shore' star Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino is spending his hiatus from the show holed up in rehab.
And while his rep initially said it was for the trite "exhaustion" (seriously, when will they stop trotting that out and expecting us to believe it?), the truth is now leaking out.
Looks like all that hard partying does have repercussions -- a rep for 'Jersey Shore' star Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino has confirmed that the eterna-tanned reality star has checked himself into rehab. So what does this mean to the upcoming season of 'Jersey Shore' and what did Sorrentino himself tweet about the news?
Come on, everybody, we were so close! So very, very close. With Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi pregnant, engaged, and seemingly retired from the hard-partying lifestyle for which she's famous only for stumbling through, it had seemed 'Jersey Shore' was at its end. After all, even meatballs and gorilla juiceheads have to sleep sometime, don't they?
And with 'Jersey Shore' Season 5 having come to a close, with a Pauly D spin-off on the way and a Snooki / JWoww pilot in the works, it had seemed that the once mammoth phenomenons of GTL and the 'Jersey Shore' lifestyle would slowly, but surely ride off into the sunset. Then, this happened.
Brace yourselves, folks. 'Jersey Shore' has been renewed for Season 6.
