40 years after the original film, a new movie will reveal the story behind ‘Summer Nights.’

Disney’s The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror attraction has been around since 1994, and if you grew up in the ’90s you may recall that it was already the inspiration for one film — a 1997 Disney TV movie starring Kirsten Dunst and Steve Guttenberg. It was one of the studio’s first attempts at translating a theme park attraction into a film, and it’s now one of their latest as Disney is reportedly developing a new movie based on the popular ride.

It's been almost a year since we've heard anything about the big screen adaptation of beloved children's horror book series ‘Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark.’ But rest assured, CBS Films is still fully committed to this odd adaptation, and have now hired screenwriter John August, who last wrote the 2012 Tim Burton film ‘Frankenweenie.’ As that film was both a return to form of sorts for Burton and delivered a charming, spooky and kooky kid-friendly narrative, the hiring of August could be promising.
