Now that 'Game of Thrones' season 3 has begun its run, and 'The Walking Dead' has closed up shop until season 4, genre TV fans have plenty of new adventures to look forward to. ABC's 'S.H.I.E.L.D.' TV series has yet to recieve an official series order, but will likely debut this fall regardless, continuing the adventures of Agent Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) and a new team. Yet every Marvel fan still has one major question for the series: just how will Coulson return for 'S.H.I.E.L.D.' after the events of 'The Avengers'?

When 'Veronica Mars's Kickstarter movie soared past its goal of two million dollars yesterday, it was apparent that a new paradigm could be approaching for cult shows. Which led many (including us) to think about some of Joss Whedon's projects that have passionate fanbases but haven't always had big audiences. Whedon realized that as well, and so he gave an interview so he could address it, and not be bothered about it again -- at least for a while.

Joss Whedon took a break from the 'Avengers' movie universe to film a slight modernization of William Shakespeare's 'Much Ado About Nothing.' A group of his friends and familiar faces from the Whedon-verse hang out at the director's house for a week and make an indie film -- the results border on the self-indulgent while blissfully eschewing pretension.

After 'The Avengers' it seemed a foregone conclusion that The Hulk would eventually get his own movie. Then came the rumors that a big part of Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe would involved Hulk being sent to outer space after 'The Avengers 2' launching the 'Planet Hulk' storyline from the comics. But 'Avengers' director and Marvel Godfather Joss Whedon has commented on the Planet Hulk rumors and he calls the idea "nonsense."

One of the biggest surprises to emerge from the massive success of 'The Avengers' was the renewed interest in the Hulk (as well as the puny Dr. Bruce Banner). Marvel's green monster had headlined two solo movies of his own with mixed results, but for the first time, audiences had seen the true potential of the character. 'Avengers' director Joss Whedon recently spoke about the Hulk, his future in the Marvel movie universe and just how hard he is to get right.

Seeing as the 'S.H.I.E.L.D.' TV series pilot has officially wrapped production, it may be a while yet before ABC or Marvel release any official photos or footage from the Joss Whedon-directed pilot. And though ABC has yet to issue an official pickup for the Marvel-produced 'Avengers' continuation, fans are no doubt eagerly anticipating seeing some of their favorite movie characters on the small screen, but what does Joss Whedon himself have to say? The director issues new comments onf the 'S.H.I.E.L.D.' TV series, including whether or not we'll see Cobie Smulders' Maria Hill inside!
