Many classic but cancelled series hold the distinction of featuring a number of A-list stars before making their big breaks, but few hold such a distinguished roster as Judd Apatow's cancelled 2000 NBC series 'Freaks and Geeks.' The retro series featured the likes of James Franco, Seth Rogen, Jason Segel, Linda Cardellini, Lizzy Caplan, Busy Philipps, Martin Starr and even Thomas Wilson (Biff of 'Back to the Future'), despite only running 18 episodes. Twelve years later, are you ready to see the entire cast reunite?
We're looking forward to Judd Apatow's 'This is 40' for a number of reasons, and one is Jason Segel. In the film he plays Jason, a personal trainer that Leslie Mann's character Debbie is going to partly for the exercise and partly because he constantly hits on her. In this new featurette, we see more of Segel's time in the film.
It's the rare couple that can get into specifics about how they would kill each other while talking about how much they love each other. But that's Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann in 'This is 40' and despite being madly in love, they still sort of hate each other sometimes. Sound familiar? Then you might like this movie.
Exactly 22 years ago, director Judd Apatow ('This is 40,' 'Knocked Up') wrote a script for 'The Simpsons' that was never used (which is not surprising since, at the time, Apatow had no credits and was still a struggling comedian). But now that Judd Apatow is Judd Apatow, 'The Simpsons' are producing the long lost script, which will air next year.
"Hold your horses," we thought, unintentionally connecting the latest bit of 'Girls' gossip to the HBO series' oft-mentioned association with 'Sex and the City.' However controversial the first season of the Judd Apatow / Lena Dunham-produced HBO drama 'Girls' may have been, fans of the series still eagerly await the coming of its second season in early 2013. Imagine our surprise then to learn that its producers are already assured of 'Girls' season 3! Is there truth to the rumor, or are we being jerked around by 'Girls'?
Two years ago, it was revealed that Judd Apatow was shepherding a new Pee-wee Herman film to the big screen, with Pee-wee himself, Paul Reubens, co-writing the script. Then things got quiet. Really quiet. Recently, Coming Soon was able to speak with Reubens regarding the project. We've got a few highlights below.
Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann star in Judd Apatow's upcoming comedy 'This is 40' where they reteam as Pete and Debbie, their characters from 'Knocked Up' to explore what happens as couples grow older together.
Since 'This is 40' is billed as the "sort-of sequel to 'Knocked Up'" this new poster for the film captures that sentiment perfectly.
Lena Dunham broke into the cultural consciousness at SXSW in 2010 with her charming indie 'Tiny Furniture.' The film was instantly divisive as Dunham played a semi-fictional version of herself -- a meandering twenty-something who moves back home post college break-up -- along with her mother and sister in supporting roles. But beneath all that quiet quirk lie a film with some real heart and uncompromising honesty, which is what we're hoping for with her new series for HBO, 'Girls.'
