Earlier this week, a new poll revealed that the MCU character fans most want to see in a standalone film is — unsurprisingly, still — Black Widow. Phase 3 is set to conclude in 2019 with Avengers: Infinity War (which will soon undergo a title change), and the only film Kevin Feige has confirmed for Phase 4 so far is Guardians of the Galaxy 3 (which may or may not be directed by James Gunn). And although he doesn’t 100-percent-confirm it here, Feige presents a Black Widow solo movie as a very real possibility for Phase 4.

Marvel Will Call the Creative Shots on ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’

The idea of seeing Spider-Man in the MCU used to seem totally crazy, but here we are. Tom Holland’s web-slinger is set to make his debut in Captain America: Civil War in just a couple of weeks, and early reviews have been overwhelmingly positive about the new Spidey. But that’s Civil War. Sony’s last two Spider-Man movies were kind of a mess, to say the least, so a little skepticism regarding their upcoming reboot is understandable. Rest assured that Spidey is in good hands, according to Kevin Feige.

Marvel’s Kevin Feige Says Phase 4 Will Be ‘Distinctively Different’

Marvel's Captain America: Civil War L to R: Black Panther/T'Challa (Chadwick Boseman), Vision (Paul Bettany), Iron Man/Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.)
We are just a few weeks away from the beginning of Marvel’s Phase 3, which kicks off with Captain America: Civil War and runs through 2019 with Avengers: Infinity War Part II (and possibly Inhumans). Although we are still a few years out from Phase 4, studio head Kevin Feige recently revealed at least one title we can expect in the next chapter of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which — as he explains in a new interview — will be “distinctively different.”

‘Guardians of the Galaxy 3’ Is Definitely Part of Marvel’s Phase 4 Plan

James Gunn is currently in production on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, so when recently asked if he’d return to direct Guardians of the Galaxy 3, the director seemed uncertain about whether he wants to stick with Marvel or move on to something else. Marvel hasn’t formally revealed any of its Phase 4 films, but we’ve all just assumed that another Guardians sequel is part of that plan — according to Kevin Feige, that assumption is correct.

Marvel
Thank goodness we have all this excitement over Captain America: Civil War, Doctor Strange, a new Spider-Man and Black Panther to keep us busy while we wait (and wait…and wait…and wait) for more intel on Captain Marvel. Last we heard, Nicole Perlman and Inside Out scribe Meg LeFauve had been tapped to develop the screenplay, but…that’s it. Not a peep since then. According to Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige, that’s going to change pretty soon. How soon? This summer, apparently.

‘Thor: Ragnarok’ Will Be ‘Totally Different’ From the Last Two ‘Thor’ Films

EDIT

Marvel
Many fans seem to agree that the Thor films are the weaker installments in the MCU, which should make Marvel president Kevin Feige’s latest comments about Thor: Ragnarok seem fairly promising. For starters, Feige says the new sequel will be “totally different” from its predecessors, and you shouldn’t expect the mighty thunder god to spend much time hanging out on Earth.

Today’s big rumor sprung up seemingly out of nowhere — okay, not totally out of nowhere, but it did raise a few eyebrows and maybe get a few hopes up as reports began circulating that Creed director Ryan Coogler has been confirmed to direct Marvel’s Black Panther. Hold your horses, because Coogler hasn’t been confirmed for T’Challa’s solo film…yet.

Marvel
After lazily attempting to thwart our heroes from his space-throne in Guardians of the Galaxy, it looks like Thanos will be sitting the next one out, as Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has revealed that the Mad Titan won’t be appearing in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. So, when will we see him again?

Following this week’s reveal of the first official images of Benedict Cumberbatch as the Sorcerer Supreme and Kevin Feige’s hints about the next Infinity Stone comes new intel on the other characters in Doctor Strange — namely, Tilda Swinton’s take on the Ancient One and Chiwetel Ejiofor’s Baron Mordo, who may or may not be a villain? It’s a bit more complicated than that.
