When previously asked about the lack of female superhero movies, Marvel chief Kevin Feige has remained diplomatic, yet non-committal. During the press tour for 'Thor 2,' Feige's comments were "I'm not sure when that will be" and "we'll see what happens." Not exactly a ringing endorsement for a female-led Marvel movie. Apparently, things have changed over the past few months and now Feige, when asked specifically about Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow, said that they are actively developing her own solo movie.

One of the biggest reasons Marvel Studios is dominating the landscape of comic book movies is its strategy. Marvel
Marvel has been quick to pick up release dates, as they currently have three films set for release on May 6, 2016, July 8, 2016, and May 5, 2017 and have yet to reveal what those films are (if they know, which they may not). At Comic-Con 2012, they unveiled their release slate into 2015, with 'Ant-Man' and 'Avengers 2' on the docket, while this year they didn't mention anything new as their big announcement was the title of the 'Avengers' sequel. It turns we won't know what those untitled films are until next year at the earliest.

Joss Whedon's announcement at San Diego Comic-Con that his 'Avengers 2' takes its official title from the 'Age of Ultron' comics sent an explosion of excitement throughout the buzzing Hall H, but apparently this plan was in the works for months prior. As Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige reiterated a point Whedon made, the movie won't follow the classic storyline and Ultron origin, instead utilizing plot points from various 'Avengers' adventures.

There were a lot of big reveals at Comic-Con 2013, but none as accidental as the slip from actor Djimon Hounsou on the 'Guardians of the Galaxy' panel. While talking about his character, Korath, Hounsou revealed that he was close allies with both Ronan the Accuser (the film's main villain, played by Lee Pace) and Thanos in the film. Nearby, director James Gunn and Marvel president Kevin Feige shared a "whoops" look.
Later, Feige explained and elaborated on the role Thanos plays in the film.
