Have you seen the new 'Kick-Ass 2' trailer yet? It is, to use a cliche, very kick ass. Part of that is seeing Chloe Moretz return as Hit Girl, part of it is seeing Jim Carrey's new superhero and part of it is the music in the background. Nope, Iron Man and Superman are great but now Kick-Ass and Hit Girl are back and this time the only choice is to go balls to the wall. And no, this new 'Kick-Ass 2' trailer is NSFW.

Despite much critical hype, Matthew Vaughn's 'Kick-Ass' was only a modest success at the box office. While it didn't make a lot of money, it made plenty of fans and sold a lot of DVDs and here we are: 'Kick-Ass 2' hits this summer and our first look at the film has arrived. And yes, that is Jim Carrey.

We're excited about 'Kick-Ass 2: Balls to the Wall,' but it seems the production has been kind of leaky. There's a cameo that's been spoiled (we won't spoil it), and there's obviously been youtube footage of the film's shooting (see image and link above). Perhaps they're trying to stem the tide by released the film's synopsis.

'Kick-Ass 2: Balls to the Wall' is currently in production in Toronto, Canada, and a new video taken on set has revealed a first look at Jim Carrey in action -- sorta -- as his "Colonel Stars" character. The video itself doesn't provide a ton of excitement, unless actors in superhero costumes standing around and waiting for "action to be called" can be considered exciting, but

Though it had been the word for a while, it's now official: Jim Carrey has joined 'Kick-Ass 2: Balls to the Wall' as The Colonel, the leader of the Justice League-esque group Kick-Ass joins in the sequel.

And the (cast) hits keep coming. 'Kick-Ass 2' is looking to add actress Lindy Booth (who you might remember best from her role in Zack Snyder's 'Dawn of the Dead' remake) to the roster in the brand new heroic role of -- wait for it -- "Night Bitch."

Jim Carrey has played a variety of roles throughout the years, carefully treading the waters between comedy and drama. He may be doing that yet again if he accepts the role for 'Kick-Ass 2: Balls To The Wall.'

We knew that 'Kick-Ass 2' was moving forward with a new director at the helm and a new studio footing the bill, but we didn't know which members of the original film's cast would be suiting up for the sequel. Well, now we do and fans of the first movie will be mighty pleased.
