I woke this morning to a variety of recaps of the new episode of Louie. My Twitter feed was full of references to some kind of amazing poop joke that Louis C.K. makes on the show this week. Who better, then, to star in a children’s film? They love poop jokes almost as much as they love fart jokes!

Last night, we heard official word that 20th Century Fox was moving forward with director Neill Blomkamp’s Alien sequel and today, we already have one actor expressing his desire to be in it! However, that actor may not be who you expect and his reason for wanting to be in the film is a little unusual. We are talking about the one and only Louis C.K., the comedian and star of FX’s Louie, who wants to star in the new movie just so he can die a horrible onscreen death.

Louis C.K. years earlier broke our hearts with the news that FX’s ‘Louie’ season 4 would be pushed to 2014, and while season 5 will have its own caveat of reduced episodes, we’ll have the Emmy-winning dramedy back even sooner than we hoped. ‘Louie’ season 5 has set its official April premiere, while FX has also plotted the debuts of Billy Crystal’s ‘The Comedians’ and 2014 breakout ‘You’re the Worst.’

Now that 'Sons of Anarchy' has come to a close, FX's year ahead looks brighter than ever, bringing with it premieres for the final season of 'Justified,' 'Archer''s sixth year, and 'The Americans'' return. That said, comedy may win the day, as a new FX trailer previews our first look at Zach Galifianakis and Louis C.K.'s 'Baskets,' along with Denis Leary's return in 'Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll.'

A while back we'd heard the prospect of 'The Hangover' star Zach Galifianakis developing a new FX comedy with Louis C.K. on board to produce, but only today are the fruits of their labor made public. The network has officially ordered 10 episodes of Galifianakis' single-camera comedy 'Baskets,' a clown comedy aiming for launch on FX in 2016.

If there's one thing you need to remember about comedians, it's that despite the chuckles, belly laughs, and guffaws that they can inspire in other people, they tend to be kind of grumpy on their own. Just look at Ricky Gervais! He's been nominated for yet another Emmy (he's already won two), but all the guy can think about is the thank you that's owed to him from yet another comedian, who just so happens to also be an Emmy nominee.

The FX network is among the last TV heavy-hitters to bring its series to the ongoing TCA press tour panels, and already brings both good news and bad. For one, FX's 'Fargo' miniseries will officially return for a second season in 2015, while Louis C.K.'s Emmy-winning 'Louie' has also been confirmed for a fifth season. So, what's the bad news?

Ecstatic though we were to have FX Emmy darling 'Louie' back for a fourth season, the controversy quotient seemed higher than usual when a recent episode highlighted comedian Pamela Adlon's character in an uncomfortable struggle with rape-like overtones.
