The world wasn’t exactly crying out for a remake of Point Break, but here we are. We didn’t ask for a modern take on Kathryn Bigelow’s 1991 action semi-classic, but maybe we did something to deserve it. Today’s word is Extreme. That’s the big word in the first trailer for the Point Break remake, based on Kathryn Bigelow’s action thriller classic starring Keanu Reeves and Patrick Swayze. Luke Bracey takes on the Reeves role with Edgar Ramirez in place of Swayze in the new film, which transforms the adrenaline junkie surfer bank robbers into extreme sports enthusiasts with extremist ideals.

One of the more curious remakes to emerge in recent years is the upcoming redo of Point Break, Kathryn Bigelow’s action classic which originally starred Keanu Reeves and Patrick Swayze. The pair have been replaced by Luke Bracey and Edgar Ramirez in the remake, which premiered its first photos and trailer at CinemaCon this week. The trailer hasn’t landed online yet, but you can check out the images to get your first peek at your new Bodhi and Johnny Utah.
