After winning an Oscar for her incredible breakthrough performance in 12 Years a Slave, Lupita Nyong’o has been awesomely unpredictable in her career choices. Instead of following up the acclaimed drama with more acclaimed dramas, Nyong’o starred in two films back-to-back where she portrayed animated characters. More than anything, it’s left us anxious to see her in another live-action film, which makes the first trailer for Queen of Katwe pretty exciting.

Kids grow up so fast these days. They have to if they’re going to watch the movies Hollywood makes for them.

The Force Awakens hits DVD and Blu-ray tomorrow, with enough special features to keep you occupied until Rogue One arrives later this year — but lest you forget, Episode VIII is currently filming for a 2017 release, and director Rian Johnson has shared a new photo from the set teasing the return of a certain spectacled and wise alien played by one Lupita Nyong’o.

Disney has released two new clips from The Jungle Book — one that will make you laugh as you reach for a snack, and another that will make you feel…some things. Disney has released a new TV spot for The Jungle Book, offering a fresh look at Jon Favreau’s live-action / CGI adventure with a little bit of new footage thrown in for good measure. Titled “Live the Legend,” the spot opens with Ben Kingsley’s Bagheera, the panther mentor of young Mowgli, explaining the (bare?) necessity of returning the boy to the jungle.

If you were one of the fans disappointed by Maz Kanata’s limited role in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, then we have good and bad news for you. The good news is that Lupita Nyong’o’s wizened old alien pirate is as much of a badass as you suspected. The bad news is that the scene in which she showed off her very particular set of skills was left on the cutting room floor. Silver lining: it could be one of the deleted scenes that shows up on The Force Awakens Blu-ray.
