Among the flood of information pouring out from today's tragic Los Angeles International Airport shooting, it seems the incident carried with it an unexpected TV side effect. Amid all the chaos, the shooting also apparently interrupted the first day of production for 'Mad Men''s final season, which had been filming at the airport in one of the terminals nearby.

Though the announcement of spinoffs for both 'Breaking Bad' and 'The Walking Dead' should have given us a clue, 'Mad Men' fans were surprised to find that AMC would make yet another attempt to extend its most profitable programs, adding an episode to the final season in order to divide 14 among two runs through 2015. Now, series creator Matthew Weiner has spoken out to offer his thoughts on the move, as well as shoot down the idea of a spinoff.

The announcements that AMC had decided to re-cancel 'The Killing,' spinoff 'Breaking Bad' into a 'Better Call Saul' prequel and add a 'Walking Dead' companion series spinoff for 2015 had us wondering if 'Mad Men' would be the next target to fill the rapidly-expanding holes in AMC's lineup, and it seems we were right. The network has decided to split 'Mad Men's seventh and "final" season between 2014 and 2015, expanding each run as 'Breaking Bad' did before them.

The 'Mad Men' actress kept up the notorious secrecy surrounding the AMC drama, but recently opened up about her post-'Mad Men' plans, which include a desire to make the trip to 'Homeland' or HBO's 'Game of Thrones,' assuming the old gods and the new smile upon us.

The 2013 Emmy nominations have arrived and at first glance, it's more of the same. Of course 'Breaking Bad,' 'Mad Men,' 'Homeland' and 'Downton Abbey' seem to be dominating the drama category! Of course '30 Rock,' 'Louie' and 'Veep' are contenders in the comedy category! However, the big surprise with this year's nominations is that one of the most nominated shows wasn't even on TV at all.
