Will the 'Justice League' Movie Have No Connection to the 'Batman' Reboot?

The popular thought on the 'Justice League' movie being planned at Warner Bros. was that the studio would structure it much like how Marvel went about building 'The Avengers.' Introduce the characters through standalone films, then combine them for one super superhero film. But perhaps that's not how Warner Bros. is planning 'Justice League' after all. According to one report, the 'Justice League' movie could have nothing to do with 'Man of Steel' or the planned 'Batman' reboot.

Conan O'Brien saw both of the latest teaser trailers for Zack Snyder's 'Man of Steel' -- he saw the luxurious landscapes, the nostalgic image of a child running around his lawn in a Superman cape, and he heard the graceful uplifting music playing just before the most iconic superhero went skyrocketing through the clouds -- and he was not impressed.

Many of us come to Comic-Con ready to talk nerdy about obscure characters that have only appeared in an out-of-continuity one-shot. There is, however, an understood love we have for the most basic, universal characters. To some, Superman, is comic books. And it's time to bring him back to comic book movies.

The Comic-Con 2012 Warner Bros. panel on Saturday in Hall H is one of the biggest gatherings we've seen so far here in San Diego. Yeah, 'Resident Evil' and Disney pretty much blew us away, but Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures brought together three top dogs to Comic-Con's largest space -- 'Pacific Rim,' 'Man of Steel' and 'The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.'
