Disney’s Gigantic just got a little more interesting, as the studio has promoted screenwriter Meg LeFauve to co-director for the upcoming animated project. The co-writer of Inside Out and Marvel’s Captain Marvel solo movie joins Tangled director Nathan Greno on the new film, which offers an animated reimagining of the classic Jack and the Beanstalk story, first previewed during last year’s D23 Expo.

Earlier last week it was reported that Captain Marvel is currently courting three possible directors to helm Marvel's first standalone superheroine origin film. Now it appears another potential name has been added to the list: Rebecca Thomas. Jeff Sneider of Mashable broke the news that Thomas was a "mystery contender" today on his Twitter.

Earlier today we learned that Captain Marvel will no longer be the first female superhero credited in a Marvel movie title, as Wasp will be given a co-credit in the Ant-Man sequel, titled Ant-Man and the Wasp. The announcement of that film switched up Marvel’s schedule a bit, with Black Panther hitting theaters a little earlier, and Captain Marvel now arriving in 2019. We have a little under four years before we see this highly-anticipated hero in her own solo film, but co-screenwriter Meg LeFauve has opened up (just a tiny bit) about her plans for the character.
