'Pain & Gain' - which stars Mark Wahlberg and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson - already feels like no other Michael Bay movie before it. Sure it's got the usual slick, lens-flared look, the girls in bikinis and dudes with guns but this movie feels more like a Coen Bros. movie on steroids. Check out the 'Pain & Gain' trailer below and you'll see what we mean.
'Transformers 4' is happening and while we don't know much about the film, we do know this much: it will be directed by Michael Bay, hence it will star a hot young girl. In previous installments it was Megan Fox or Isabel Lucas or Rosie Huntington-Whiteley but with an all new cast lined up for 'Transformers 4' (headed by Mark Wahlberg), Bay is out searched for fresh blood. So what girls does he have in his sights?
We've given ABC's admittedly "wacky" alien sitcom 'The Neighbors' a bit of flack since its debut, as have a number of TV critics. Still, the Dan Fogle-created series continues to perform modestly for the network, and may just have brought about its most redeeming news to date. Following earlier references to the explosive director, 'The Neighbors' has officially tapped Michael Bay to make a guest appearance in a coming episode, but will he be his "awesome" self or a character more alien than we've come to expect?
We don't know much about 'Transformers 4.' We know Michael Bay will be back (of course). We know that Mark Wahlberg will be replacing Shia LaBeouf as the human who gets the most lines between robot fights. We know that it'll most likely be more of the same, for better or for worse. But now we know a little more: Michael Bay spoke to TMZ about the film and revealed that part four will take place four years after the events of the last film.
Michael Bay played footsies for a while with doing more 'Transformers' movies, but has signed up for a fourth film, because... well, money. Lots and lots of it. Bay earned $80 Million from the first film (which is the lowest grossing film of the franchise), and gets 8% of the merchandising money, so it's safe to assume that he makes over $100 Million a sequel. But it looks like he's bringing in a new lead.
One pilot we've certainly kept our eye on for the coming season is that of TNT's Michael Bay-produced 'The Last Ship,' and not solely for the number of explosions likely inherent. Among such big-name casting choices as 'Grey's Anatomy' cast-off Eric Dane and the lovely Rhona Mitra, we were intrigued to learn that 'LOST' and 'Supernatural' star Titus Welliver was to take a part. An emergency has forced Welliver out of the series, but 'Chuck's Adam Baldwin sounds like a fine replacement to us!
We're already well aware that 'Transformers 4' is going to be something of a reboot of the insanely successful franchise. Gone is Shia LaBeouf and the rest of the human cast in favor of a new set of characters and, from what has been implied, a new array of Transformers as well (it's also probably taking place in outer space). Specific story details are under wraps, but if what we're reading today proves to be true, then it looks like we'll have our first female lead in the series. After the break for more!
