Guillermo del Toro Begins Filming ‘The Shape of Water’
Although merely rumored a few months back, the title of Guillermo del Toro’s Cold War fantasy-romance drama has formally been confirmed as The Shape of Water, and in even more exciting news, production has officially begun. Del Toro’s latest project features an incredible cast, including Sally Hawkins, Octavia Spencer and Michael Shannon, and although it doesn’t yet have a release date, it’s already one of our most anticipated films of…well, whenever it comes out.

'Mr. Robot' Season 3 Wants Michael Shannon for a Role
Fans of USA breakout drama Mr. Robot are already anxious enough to find if Season 2 can capture the same cerebral madness as its predecessor, let alone what to make of a third season, or the two mapped out beyond that. Ahead of Season 2 at least, we know Season 3 will target a fairly imposing figure, with an eye toward casting Michael Shannon in the role.

Soderbergh’s ‘Logan Lucky’ Adds Adam Driver, Riley Keough
Those rumors from a few months back have (thankfully) proven true, as it would appear that Steven Soderbergh is plotting his first feature film since 2013. Titled Logan Lucky, the heist film reunites Soderbergh with Magic Mike star Channing Tatum, and although Michael Shannon has unfortunately dropped out of the project, a few more actors have joined the lineup.

Guillermo del Toro’s next project is shaping up quite nicely, with Sally Hawkins, Octavia Spencer and Michael Stuhlbarg already set to star in what’s being described as an “otherworldly” love story set against the backdrop of the Cold War. The latest casting update not only reveals that Michael Shannon is in talks to join the lineup, but confirms last week’s rumor that Richard Jenkins is also coming aboard.

The latest film from Mud and Take Shelter director Jeff Nichols is set to debut at SXSW next month, but you won't have to wait long to see what's so special about Midnight Special, as it hits theaters about a week after its festival premiere. A new trailer for the sci-fi indie has arrived, further teasing the mystery and desperation surrounding one very interesting little boy.

It sounds too absurd to be true: the King of Rock and Roll showing up at the White House asking President Nixon for his own federal agent badge. This is the stuff of fan-fiction or a goofy ‘SNL’ sketch, right? Nope, the proof is in the photograph. On December 21, 1970, Elvis Presley arrived at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue requesting a meeting with President Richard Nixon. We’ve seen the photo of the two posing together in the Oval Office, but what exactly happened in that meeting? The latest from Amazon Studios brings that story to the big screen in ‘Elvis & Nixon,’ and now we have our very first look.

Toronto 2015 Review: ‘Freeheld’
The characters in Freeheld repeatedly tell one another that “life isn’t fair” — and with good reason. The film is about a decorated police officer who spent most of her life hiding her homosexuality to avoid discrimination and bigotry. After years in the closet, she finally falls in love and enters into a domestic partnership, only to be stricken with terminal cancer. All she wants to do is award her pension to her partner so that she can afford to keep their house, but the local government denies her request simply because her partner happens to be a woman. Every single aspect of this scenario is unfair.

It involved General Zod (whose corpse appears briefly in the trailers), flipper-hands and a hilarious story about a port-a-potty. Michael Shannon would now like you to know that he was joking.
