It isn’t exactly scientific to suggest that Showtime’s Masters of Sex has fallen on some harder times after its revered first season, but harder still times seem in store by the first Season 4 trailer. Michael Sheen’s Dr. Masters has his very own sadness beard in the first official sneak peek, heralding both a September Season 4 premiere and the advent of a swinging ‘70s vibe.

Yesterday, Variety announced that actor and screenwriter Michael Sheen would be throwing his hat into the ring with Green River Killer, an adaptation of the infamous 20-year investigation into a series of murders in the state of Washington.

But with The Imitation Game director Morten Tyldum at the helm and mega-stars Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt on board, the sci-fi romance is pushing full speed ahead. And it just invited another actor to join: Masters of Sex star Michael Sheen, who has been cast in the role of a robot.
