We knew 'Modern Family' would win something at the 2012 Emmy Awards. After all, the cast and crew pretty much dominated the Comedy Series, and Supporting Actor and Supporting Actress categories. But probably no one expected Julie Bowen, who plays Claire Dunphy on the show, to beat out both Kristen Wiig (and her many 'SNL' personalities) and the late Kathryn Joosten of 'Desperate Housewives' in the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series category! But she did.
Well, isn't that something. 'Modern Family' seems to have won itself an award. Did we not tell you that this show would likely come up again when it won the first award of the night, awarding Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series to Eric Stonestreet? Sigh
Stop the presses, 'Modern Family' has won an Emmy! The sure to dominate series caps off the first award of the night, snagging Outstanding Supporting Actor on the comedy side of things with Eric Stonestreet. Stonestreet won for his beloved portrayal of Cameron Tucker on ABC's monster-comedy hit 'Modern Family.'
If you're wondering why a monotone man in a classroom keeps spouting the name "Bueller" in succession despite the man's clear absence, we've finally got an answer: he's busy on the set of 'Modern Family' season 4! That's right, Ferris Bueller himself, Matthew Broderick will ditch his other responsibilities to pop by the series for an upcoming episode, but as whom? Will his star turn, numbering among the many 'Modern Family' has brought to light be the best yet?
Okay, so the 'Modern Family' season 4 salary talks are over, right? The adults are all happy with their six-figure-per-episode payday, and the kids are nice and set for college with weekly salaries more than we humble TV writers clear in a year? Good, we can get back to casting! As 'Modern Family' gears up for its biggest season yet (literally, in Gloria's case), at least one famous face is returning to the series. That's right, Dede Pritchett, Shelley Long herself will be back to cause an even bigger scene, but will things end up civil by the end?
In an article almost too depressing to write, it seems that 'Modern Family's child stars are going to be quite taken care of by ABC as well. It's been some time since all the hoopla surrounding the six elder stars vacating the series and launching a lawsuit to protest their meager (read: ginourmous) salaries, clearing the way for 'Modern Family's younger stars to get their raises as well in advance of season 4. So, how sweet is payday for a young 'Modern Family' star, and who's left in the cold?
So now that everybody's salary has been squared away (even the dog's), 'Modern Family' fans can breathe a sigh of relief that the show has resumed production, and things are going off without any further hitches. All that said, there are still some big questions to be answered when 'Modern' family season 4 premieres on September 26, and a few other big things as well. Most importantly: Will we be able to take our eyes off of a pregnant Gloria?
With all the drama surrounding 'Modern Family' season 4 and its multiple cast re-negotiations, its easy to forget that we're going to see plenty of faces outside of the Dunphys, Pritchetts and Delgados. And for a series that has boasted such impressive talent as Greg Kinnear and Edward Norton, it's good to see 'Modern Family' dipping into one of our favorite comedic wells by casting 'Reno 911!' and 'Bridesmaids' star Wendi Mclendon-Covey!
Earlier today, we saw a surprising article that detailed the current state of viewers for Sunday night cable series, some of which hardly seemed like they could be true. And yet, for as critically adored as series like 'Breaking Bad' may be, it just isn't where the big bucks are. A new list of TV's most paid stars that came out today will equally shock you, particularly when your salary is less than that of a monkey. Enjoy!
Just when you thought it was safe to get back into 'Modern Family,' more members of the cast have jumped onto the "we like money" bandwagon, causing yet another headache to be ironed out in advance of production on 'Modern Family' season 4. This time, it's the kids looking to follow in the grown-ups footsteps by banding together for a salary raise, but will they succeed? And what's this about a new dog?
