Emma Stone To Receive "Trailblazer" Award From MTV

One of the new awards MTV’s adding to this year’s Movie Awards will be the ‘Trailblazer’ trophy recognizing “actors beloved by the MTV audience who are carving out their own unique and diverse path within Hollywood,” according to the network. Today, it was revealed that Emma Stone will be the award’s first recipient.

Who's ready to howl at the moon? Or, at least howl at their television sets, looking only slightly less crazy?  The second season of MTV's cult hit 'Teen Wolf' will premiere on Sunday, June 3 immediately following the MTV Movie Awards, much as it premiered its first season exactly one year ago. But why wait for June, when you can watch the first ten minutes of season premiere "Omega" right now?

For years, the MTV Movie Awards did everything in its power to distance itself from the stuffy, serious Academy Awards. They gave out prizes for Best Fight and Best Kiss. They nominated films like ‘Twilight’ and ‘Harry Potter’ (which the Academy rarely bothered to do) and they won all the awards. But now, it sounds like MTV is reversing gears and trying to clean up its act … at least a little bit.
