That Natalie Portman sure is keeping busy with one badass schedule. In addition to the recent news that Portman will portray a young Ruth Bader Ginsburg (aka the Notorious R.B.G.) in On the Basis of Sex, the actress has also lined up another project: a French period ghost story titled Planetarium, in which she’ll co-star with Lily-Rose Depp, the daughter of — oh, like we need to tell you.

Fact: Natalie Portman is a badass. Fact: Ruth Bader Ginsburg, aka the Notorious R.B.G. is also a badass. And now the former will play the latter in a new film about the aspirational and inspirational supreme court justice, combining two of our favorite women in one presumably amazing film about one seriously amazing woman.

Natalie Portman Looking to Join Alex Garland’s Post-Apocalyptic Horror Movie ‘Annihilation’

by Matt Singer May 7, 2015 @ 2:57 PM
Not to spoil my Best Movies of 2014 So Far list whenever I get around to publishing it next month, but Alex Garland’s Ex Machina will definitely be on there. Probably pretty high, too. Garland’s directorial debut after a long career writing novels like The Beach and movies like 28 Days Later..., Sunshine, and Dredd is an outstanding sci-fi thriller about an unsettling love triangle between a robot, her inventor, and his employee. It’s so damn good, it rocketed Garland up my personal list of favorite filmmakers, to the point where I’ll pretty much see whatever he does next no matter what it is.

by Britt Hayes January 4, 2015 @ 12:39 PM
It’s been quite a bumpy road through the production of ‘Jane Got a Gun,’ the upcoming and consistently-delayed new Western starring Natalie Portman and Joel Edgerton. First, the film lost a director, endured lawsuits, exchanged Michael Fassbender for Ewan McGregor, and pushed its release date back a few times. But today brings our first look at Portman and Edgerton in the film, which is probably a good sign.

Natalie Portman Won't Star in the Steve Jobs Biopic After All

by Britt Hayes December 8, 2014 @ 6:03 PM
Aaron Sorkin and Danny Boyle’s Steve Jobs biopic has certainly become one of the most troubled productions in recent memory: After replacing a director, losing two leading men, and switching studios from Sony to Universal, the upcoming film has hit another bump in the road. Natalie Portman, who entered negotiations to star in the untitled Jobs biopic just before Thanksgiving, has decided to take a pass.

When ‘Jane Got a Gun’ finally arrives in theaters, the revisionist Western will look mighty different from the one that was originally conceived several years ago. It was first intended as a Lynne Ramsay film, but the ‘We Need to Talk About Kevin’ director reportedly quit the production on the first day of filming. She was eventually replaced by Gavin O’Connor (‘Warrior’), but before the dust settled much of the original cast (and even some of their replacements) had come and gone. Michael Fassbender signed on then departed, along with Bradley Cooper and Jude Law. The final lineup includes Ewan McGregor, Joel Edgerton, and Noah Emmerich, plus the film’s stalwart leading lady, Natalie Portman.

Watch the Full 'Thor 2' Gag Reel Before the DVD Hits Stores

by ScreenCrush Staff February 4, 2014 @ 3:23 PM
A little preview of the 'Thor 2' gag reel popped up online last week, but today we have a look at the entire thing, and it features a lot of screwed up lines, funny faces, slaps to the faces and falling down. Standard for any good gag reel but when you see men in capes doing it, it somehow seems funnier. God of Thunder? More like, God of Blunder amiright??

See the Cast of 'Mars Attacks!' Then and Now

Warner Bros.
In 1996, Tim Burton unleashed 'Mars Attacks!' on audiences, a sci-fi comedy featuring an amazing ensemble cast including the likes of Jack Nicholson, Natalie Portman and Pierce Brosnan. A riff on classic B-movies and based on the cult trading cards of the same name, the film tells the story of a group of martians who attack our planet and the unlikely hero who discovers the very silly way to destroy them. (Hint: it involves country music). We can't believe it's already been 17 years since the film first hit theaters, so join us for a look back at its all-star cast and see what they're up to now!
