Olivia Munn has a cameo in the upcoming Ocean’s Eight, an all-female take on Steven Soderbergh’s Ocean’s movies starring George Clooney. Sandra Bullock is taking the Clooney role this time, and has assembled a motley crew of female stars to perform her high-stakes heist. Munn wants everyone to know that she’s not in the movie, per se, but she does have a small bit in one scene. And that small bit cost her a whole lot of money.

If your movie stars Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Helena Bonham Carter, Rihanna, and Anne Hathaway, your movie needs no help in the star power department. Nonetheless, the awesome-sounding Ocean’s 8, a female-centric spinoff of the Ocean’s Eleven franchise, will feature at least a couple of cameos from the old series’ crew. Matt Damon previously confirmed he would make an appearance as master pickpocket Linus Caldwell. And in an interview with Vanity Fair, Carl Reiner reveals he’s got a scene in Ocean’s 8 too.

Any list of the best movie remakes of all-time has to include Steven Soderbergh’s Ocean’s Eleven, a classy, canny update of the Rat Pack heist flick that originally starred Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., and Angie Dickinson. Soderbergh’s Ocean’s was an even more star-studded affair featuring George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, and Julia Roberts. The critically acclaimed and commercially successful comedy ultimately spawned two sequels; together, the three Soderbergh Ocean’s made more than $1.1 billion worldwide, a number so large it would even impress Sinatra and Clooney’s Danny Ocean.

Ocean’s Eight might already be in production now, but it’s never too late to add some more famous faces to the cast. Today it’s a triple-whammy, with Richard Armitage, Kim Kardashian, and Kendall Jenner all nabbing onscreen appearances.

When they’re not hanging out in city parks wearing cool outfits and plotting fashionably, the cast of the all-female Ocean’s movie Ocean’s Eight is casting around for new members. While the movie’s been in production for some time, it’s just added James Corden in a supporting role.

We’re all going to have to play it cool until 2018, but still, it’s tough not to get excited about the prospect of Ocean’s Eight. The baseline pitch of “it’s really just Ocean’s 11, but with women” was plenty tantalizing on its own, and then the producers started staffing up for a head-spinning cast; the team for this heist includes Anne Hathaway, Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Rihanna, Awkwafina, Sarah Paulson, Helena Bonham Carter, and Mindy Kaling. And if the prospect of a multi-million-dollar studio vehicle featuring this cast doesn’t have you sold — this film could be a real-time account of those eight actresses getting brunch and I’d still be down — they’ve got one more trick up their sleeve.

Ocean’s Eight has already assembled one heck of an ensemble cast; it’s like the Avengers of female actors, bringing so many of our favorites together for a mega-crossover of talent. Although the original plan to have George Clooney play a small role in the upcoming spinoff was ultimately nixed, it looks like another Ocean’s star will have a cameo to help tie the new film to Steven Soderbergh’s previous trilogy.

We’ll just have to wait a while to get it.
