The 2013 Oscars ceremony was rumored a while back to pay tribute to the 50 years of James Bond films by uniting the actors who've played 007 on the stage. Although one of the Oscars producers debunked that rumor not too long after the fact, there was indeed a portion of the show dedicated to the epic franchise.

The 2013 Oscars ceremony, hosted by Seth MacFarlane, started off with a bang. We knew there was gonna be at least one or two musical numbers, given the comedian's past musical turns for 'Family Guy,' but were you prepared for Harry Potter and Robin Boy Wonder singing and dancing together? Or, for that matter, Captain Kirk beaming in from the future?

It was one of the most hotly contested categories at the 2013 Academy Awards, but Christoph Waltz squeaked ahead of some very tough competition and took home some Oscar gold, winning Best Supporting Actor for his role in Quentin Tarantino's 'Django Unchained.' This was not an easy victory, especially since every nominee in this category was a past winner!

The 2013 Oscar winners were finally announced during the awards ceremony hosted by Seth MacFarlane on Sunday, February 24. After a lengthy awards season with Ben Affleck's 'Argo' as the clear frontrunner, picking up Best Picture and Best Director titles every chance it had, the flick ended up snagging the big award of the evening -- Best Picture!

If you followed the 2012 presidential election in any capacity, you've most likely heard of Nate Silver and his FiveThirtyEight blog. Even if you didn't specifically read his columns, you definitely heard about how he successfully predicted the outcome of the election in every single state using math and statistics. That's wildly impressive and Mr. Silver deserved all the acclaim that came his way. But now he has a much more difficult and demanding task ahead of him: predicting the 2013 Oscars!
