Two new Pixar films this year means two new Pixar shorts, and while many (myself included) were not a fan of Lava, there’s still hope for the studio’s next short, Sanjay’s Super Team. And you can get your first peek at footage from director Sanjay Patel’s heartfelt and personal animated short with this new official clip.

After a completely creative reboot, numerous layoffs and a looming release date, first-time director Peter Sohn and his team or artists, writers, designers and technicians had just 21 months to get The Good Dinosaur, literally Pixar’s biggest movie ever, ready for theaters. This is their story.
The countdown is on to Incredibles 2.
In an alternate universe, Pixar’s The Good Dinosaur would’ve opened on its original release date, all the way back in November of 2013. But, it hasn’t been an easy road for Pixar’s next movie, which was delayed over two years while the director and cast was replaced, and almost the entirety of the story was rewritten. With the movie just over a month away, was Pixar able to save The Good Dinosaur? Watch the new trailer and see what you think.
There’s some kind of joke to be made about how it took the arrival of a Spanish-language preview for Pixar’s The Good Dinosaur for us to hear the film’s English-language voice cast in action. This new international trailer also gives us our best look yet at the movie’s actual plot and characters, which is a nice change of pace from the lovely-but-vague early teases.
It’s not a new trailer for The Good Dinosaur, but this motion poster from Pixar’s latest is magical and charming enough to hold you over until the next bit of new footage arrives. Inspired by perhaps the most beautiful scene from the previous trailer, the new motion poster features Arlo and his pet human boy Spot illuminated by twinkling fireflies and makes us wish we had a real version to put up on our wall.
A few months ago we learned that Pixar is finally moving forward with plans for The Incredibles 2, bringing writer and director Brad Bird back for the highly-anticipated sequel to the 2004 animated film. We haven’t heard much since then, but Bird himself now has a bit of an update on the project and says he’s almost done with his first pass at the script.
While it’s not actually the house that inspired Up, there is a house in Seattle that bears a striking resemblance to the one inhabited by Carl Fredricksen in Pixar’s contemporary classic. And Fox Searchlight is now developing a film based on that house and its late owner, Edith Macefield, who also had a bit in common with the fictional Fredricksen.
Last year, 20th Century Fox released its animated Dia de los Muertos-themed film, The Book of Life, and now Pixar is prepping its own animated film rooted in the Mexican holiday tradition. As revealed at last night’s animation panel at D23, the movie is officially titled Coco, and Pixar has offered up the first plot details as well as the official poster.
Along with new details on Finding Dory, Toy Story 4 and more, Pixar’s D23 animation panel also offered up a preview of their next film, The Good Dinosaur. Directed by Peter Sohn, the new film takes place in a hypothetical world where dinosaurs weren’t wiped out — and you really can’t have a dinosaur movie without the T-Rex, can you?
