'Brave' wasn't one of the most well-received Pixar films over the past few years, but it was enough to win Best Animated Feature at the 2013 Golden Globes.
We've seen a lot of 'Brave' cosplay since Pixar's latest hit theaters last year, but none quite as charming and whimsical as this!
Pixar films have featured some interesting casting choices over the years but none may be more unusual than...Lil Wayne? If casting rumors are to be believed, Weezy - once charged with multiple felonies including possession of narcotic drug for sale, possession of dangerous drugs, misconduct involving weapons and possession of drug paraphernalia - could be the star of an upcoming 3D animated kids movie.
Though 'Brave' was a welcome respite, Pixar has gone sequel crazy, as their previous two films were sequels and this summer we're getting a prequel in 'Monsters University.' But the studio is also working on three non-sequels for the future, and have released images from each of them.
With college football bowl games happening now, Pixar has made an ad for their college-themed film 'Monsters University' and unleashed it during the games. It's the sort of clever ad that gives hope that the prequel to 'Monsters, Inc.' has a couple tricks up its sleeve.
For a children's film about anthropomorphic airplanes, Pixar's 'Planes' sure has courted a lot of controversy from film fans. A spin-off of the widely derided but highly successful 'Cars' films, it was set to be Pixar's first direct-to-DVD movie and to many fans of the animation studio, it looked like a huge stumbling block for a company that has always valued artistry over crass moneymaking. Well, now it looks like we'll be able to judge the film in a venue with a larger screen than our television: 'Planes' is getting a theatrical release.
NASA revealed their new spacesuit - the Z-1 Prototype Spacesuit and Portable Life Support System (PLSS) 2.0 - and we can't help but think this new outfit was inspired by 'Toy Story's' own Buzz Lightyear. Are our astronauts headed to infinity and beyond?
'Monsters Inc.' is already considered something of a modern animated classic and if you never saw the Pixar film in theaters, you'll get another chance this weekend as 'Monsters Inc.' is returning to theaters in another dimension. And to help celebrate the release of 'Monsters Inc. 3D,' we've got autographed posters to give away!
This Wednesday, December 19, Pixar's 'Monsters, Inc.' gets the full on 3D treatment and hits theaters nationwide. Though there's no new animated competition for the Holiday dollars this weekend, it doesn't feel as hyped as previous 3D conversions. We're wondering if this is the last big reissue for a while. Regardless, there's a new featurette to talk about the added dimension.
'Monsters University' is Pixar's first foray into the prequel game, which of course focuses on the early days of those beloved scarers Mike Wazowski and James "Sully" Sullivan. We still have about half a year to go before we get to see this surefire hit, but until then we can feast on a couple of new stills that display the cuddly monsters during their college years.
