20th Century Fox is looking to jump-start a new way to get home video into people's houses by the offer of exclusivity. Starting with their 'Prometheus,' Fox is releasing the film for digital download on September 18, where the DVD and Blu-ray (and VOD options) won't street until October 11.
Leading up to the premiere of Ridley Scott's 'Prometheus,' it seemed like a new clip or featurette was being released every day. We thought we were done. We thought it was over. We thought wrong. Here's yet another new clip from 'Prometheus' to prepare you for the DVD and Blu-ray release in October.
Ever since the end credits started rolling on 'Prometheus' we began to wonder if and when we'd finally get some answers. The 'Prometheus' DVD and Blu-ray hit stores this October and we've got a listing of the new deleted scenes that will be on the discs. What are they and what will they tell us about 'Prometheus?'
'Prometheus 2' is going to happen. Despite a lukewarm critical reception, the film performed well enough (over $300 million worldwide) to warrant a sequel. And now we have some details on when we can expect 'Prometheus 2' and who will be returning.
You'd think with the holiday the entertainment industry would take a break, but here we are with another installment of the Weekly Dose of Ridiculous. This week Seth Meyers might be making the dumbest career move possible, 'Amazing Spider-Man' tries to make us care about a sequel, FX passed on one of the best shows in 10 years, and a theater employee played God.
Ridley Scott is infamous for his inevitable director's cuts, but according to the info for the upcoming 'Prometheus' DVD and Blu-ray release, we'll merely be getting some alternate and deleted scenes, but no extended cut.
Will this be enough to explain what everyone drank on that ship to inspire such horrible decisions? (Our guess: Four Loko.)
If you haven't seen 'Prometheus' it might be wise to stay away from Regal Cinemas Thornton Place in Seattle, where a ticket-taker felt morally obligated to spoil the film for movie-goers as they entered the theater. And maybe the weirdest part of the story is why he felt obligated to spoil the film.
In this week's Dose of Ridiculous we've got a Tyler Perry space movie, more 'Fifty Shades of Grey' crap (does it ever end?), a 'Resident Evil' restaurant, and a 'Cabin Fever' prequel starring a hobbit.
Comic-Con 2012 is almost here and if you're headed to San Diego, you'll see a familiar face: 'Prometheus.' But wasn't 'Prometheus' at last year's Comic-Con? And didn't 'Prometheus' hit theaters earlier this month? Yes to both, but the viral game continues and will be looking for "new recruits" at Comic-Con 2012.
Reaction to 'Prometheus' was mixed - some people loved it and some people hated it. Well, you can count Tyler Perry as one of the ones who hated it and he's going to do something about it: he's going to make his own sci-fi movie. (Yes, we're still talking about the guy who dresses as the sassy fat old grandma in those movies.)
